i dont see any thing diffrent ?? and what about the engine is it stronger now with the s edition?

    Re: Cayenne Turbo S pics

Is that a fake S? Something looks fishy about it. Those calipers look way to small for a start.

    Re: Cayenne Turbo S pics

i hate it when they paint the sporttechnos like that.

    Re: Cayenne Turbo S pics

Nice pics, but why on earth is the Air Suspension set so high? The car looks like it's floating on air - as opposed to the wheels!

Put it to the lowest setting please!

    Re: Cayenne Turbo S pics

I will take some pics today with lower suspension. It was at the normal setting in the first photo's.

No fake, car is real. Funny enough: first Cayenne Turbo S will be available in Germany earliest March but they're already allover the world. Naaahhh, don't even think about getting a 997 Turbo earlier, first cars won't go to customers worldwide before end of May.

    1. Turbo S has 71 HP more than standard Turbo
    2. Turbo S has bigger brakes (front and rear) than standard Turbo
    3. Turbo S has different intercoolers than standard Turbo
    4. Turbo S has a different air suspension control module than standard Turbo
    5. Turbo S has different front shock absorbers than standard Turbo
    6. Turbo S has a different motronic software than the standard Turbo
    7. Turbo S has a different wheel carrier (front) than standard Turbo
    8. Turbo S has in total around more than 100 single parts that are different compared to the standard Turbo

    Do you need more information?

    Re: Cayenne Turbo S pics

... do you know if there is any difference in the Tiptronic ? ;D

    Re: Cayenne Turbo S pics

RC, do you have a detailed list of the different parts between Turbo S and Turbo, Also why does the turbo S come with a 20hp increase, that is more than the powerkit?

    CT S

    Greetings all!

Just joined; besides great content, I was quite surprised to see the pics of the CT S (from Napleton) I just bought posted in this forum! Small world!

FWIW - First impressions: great power and torque (seemingly more punch than my GT-2, but definitely not as immediate), very smooth and pleasureable ride - fast or slow, sport setting suspension a bit too stiff for real fast handling (although absolutely no bottoming on some pretty rolling topography), very good brakes (although a bit spongy under real hard braking - racing brake fluid should help), very comfortable seats (that grip ok when cornering at some higher speeds), responsive tiptronic (with slight delay) when manually shifting through the gears and when in automatic, slight body roll on hard cornering (although much, much less than one would expect from a 6,000 lb. SUV), steering input and responsiveness moderate and appropriate for the car's weight and size and pretty neutral handling with a bias to understeer. Very, very predictable handling and power. Had the car up to 135mph and over 90 mph in some sweeping turns. Driving the vehicle at the top speed was effortless, with additional power available. Didn't trigger the PSM or ABS, but did effort to try to do so.

All in all, I am very pleased with the vehicle and expect that the CTS will garner its greater than fair shair of driving time (relative to my other cars). I am going to hold off on any ECU or Cat mods until I put it on a track and see how it fares compared to the street/track cars (GT-3 and GT-2, but for the obvious); at this point, the horsepower and torque are more than sufficient and impressive.

    Thanks for the nice review!

Do let us know what happens at the track. Have you driven the Standard Turbo by any chance? I am keen to know the differneces...

    Re: CT S

Haven't driven a CT in quite awhile; last time was about two years ago on the Barbermotorsports Track at Birmingham. Fabulous vehicle there; the vehicle executes four wheel drifts wonderfully and has great power and stability. In the hands of pros, I recall that the CT was only 2 seconds a lap off the 996s they were using. They also indicated that they had been trying very hard to roll the car with abrupt manuevers and couldn't.

Based on my seat of the pants "memory", the CTS should have more torque and power at lower revs coming out of the corners. I would expect that the handling around the corners to be the same. More to come once I do take it to the track.

You'll find the best comparos in RC's previous posts on this list, after upgrading his CT with the PowerKit. My experiences pretty much mirrored his. I had driven a number of CTs, including at Barber Motorsports, before ordering my CT-PK. Steering and suspension adaptations are notably quicker and more confident, though not tremendously flatter in a sweeping curve. Acceleration is quicker, but mostly at medium to high revs. The boosts in hp and torque are signficant, but are still a fairly modest percentage. It is not at all like packing a nitrous kit into a Japanese street rocket. Brakes are better, but, in contrast to "autobahn-meister" RC (pardon my tacky American psuedo-German, RC ), I never found a big problem with the CT's brakes, even on the track. ECU is a bit more aggressive for the track, but you'll still want to turn off PSM and/or use the Tip, or you'll be screaming even louder at the electronic nanny and the sluggish accelerator/transmission response .
