    Which to choose...

    Re: Which to choose...

    How about... both?

    Re: Which to choose...

    Tought one.
If you get both, it's great, the F1 for the road, the Enzo for the track.
But if you had to chose, humm, not easy...
The F1 ultimately is faster, the Enzo is more technologically advanced, and arguably more desirable (Ferrari, newer, pedigree, etc...)
Haven't driven them so that's where it stops.
But IMHO, in 50 years the F1 will still be a legend, and no one will remember the Enzo.
The Ferrari legend is and will always be the F40. Enzo's real baby

I wouldn't be so sure about the ENZO. It is a pretty impressive car, it looks great and it has Enzo Ferrari's name which makes it special.
The F40 already dropped in price as far as I could see but I have to agree that this is the hell of a car.

    Re: Which to choose...

@fanch: do you really expect a limited edition Ferrari (399 units) with cutting-hedge performance to be forgotten in 50 years? History tells a completely different story. Just try to buy a 288GTO (279 units or so) - and then compare the price you paid to the former MSRP (at least 125%+). Even the F40 (nearly 1,300 units) shows no significant depreciation as compared to former MSRP despite a very difficult market environment.

    Re: Which to choose...

Yes you're absolutely right, the Enzo will definitly hold its value.
I was thinking more in terms of legend, for me, the F40 combines the rawness of a limited edition Ferrari plus the style plus etc etc etc, it's just a legend! Much more so than the 288GTO and F50 IMHO, time will tell about the Enzo, it's such a young cat by limited edtion Ferrari standard, see you in 20 years!
    Fanch.

    Re: Which to choose...

    Yeah, you're right RC.
I don't kwno why, but the F40 just does it for me.
I've never been in one, but what a feeling it must be to have that Twin Turbo V8 kicking in your butt!!!
Plus from a historical point of view, I like the fact this is the last car ever made under Enzo's approval.
The old man is a legend!

    I understand you very well.
The first time I had a ride in a Ferrari was about 17 years ago.
I had a friend while I was working in Romania, a christian lebanese, who showed up in a Ferrari Testarossa one day. The car had foreign license plates and my friend told me that he bought this car for his brother in Lebanon. He wanted to ship it to Lebanon a few days later.
Me and my girl-friend went to the Black Sea for a short holiday and we met my friend there because he wanted to ship the Ferrari from there on one of his father's ships.
I was so impressed with his car, I always dreamt of a Ferrari Testarossa.
A few years later, a friend from an embassy told me that his guy actually did business with stolen cars. Ouch.
Lucky me we didn't have any relationship anymore at that time (he married a local and got involved in weird business) but I'll never forget how this red rocket stopped next to me next to my hotel and we had a hell of a ride.

Right now, I'd really get myself a 360 Challenge Stradale but my favorite is still the Lamborghini Murcielago (can't help ).

    Re: Which to choose...

Mc Fast for me, even though I dont think its street legal here.
But its sold, so I will take the Enzo.
Whats with those huge ferrari badges on the front fender?

In 1923 Enzo Ferrari was racing at the Circuit of Sivocci at Ravenna he was approached by the parents of the heroic Italian pilot Francesco Baracca. Francesco was known as the Italian ace of aces. He died during the war. His parents gave Ferrari their son's squadron badge, which was the famous prancing horse on a yellow shield. Ferrari adopted this as the marques badge to represent the strength and courage needed to be a racer.

Today, it's a throwback to Scuderia Ferrari racing history. Ferrari race cars throughout history have worn these badges (called Scuderia shields) They are a factory option on any new Ferrari and are located on both front fenders.
