    997S Car Seat!

    I am trying to find a U.S. legal 5 point harnessed car seat that will fit in the back of the 997S. They claim to have a latch system but near as I can tell (and as far as the dealer knows - which is not much!) it's just the tether on the carpeted rear deck. I've seen a lot of posted strings but none seems to resolve if there is a currently available car seat for a 3 year old who weighs 30lbs and is 36" i.e. needs a 5 point harness. I'm frustrated as h-ll because I can't seem to get a straight answer like "yes, buy the _____" from the dealer or the local child store (which is generally very good). Someone suggested a Recaro child seat. Sounds cheap I'm sure, but at this point I'm desperate. A little help please.

    I have this Graco seat in the back of my 997S.

    The latch is under the flap on the rear deck lid. The flap is perforated to show you where you will have to cut the carpet. When cutting through the carpet you will have to cut through 2 1/2" of foam. The flap will flip up to reveal the ISO anchor.

    I use the 3pt rear seatbelt to go through the bottom of the seat (as opposed through the rear hole in the seat). I find this provides the most solid holding power. Also pull the rear seat belt out all of the way. This activates the continuous locking in the seatbelt specifically designed for baby seats.

    One last thing, I've removed both the seat back and bottom cushion. This should give you 3" of extra room to push the seat more rearward.
