    Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

Has anyone here tracked his Stradale? How has brake life been? Any pad/rotor replacements?

I am trying not to be the worldwide test driver, hoping to benefit from someone else's experience.

    Thank you, Will

Re: Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

Did you try Ferrarichat.com? I seem to remember someone remarking about a very expensive and early rotor replacement on that forum...

Re: Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

Grant, I also posted this inquiry on FChat. I'm trying to figure out roughly how many track days/sessions etc I should expect to get out of the ceramics, the car being driven hard. Thanks, Will

Re: Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

Will, I'm just back from the Nürburgring, and we had a 360 CS in our group. The guy wasn't driving it very hard, so his brakes were still looking ok after a few days. He just had to change the pads. (I think he went to some Pagid.)

This leads me to a little story I just have to tell... My good old 996 Turbo (now with 159'680 km on the clock!) is still able to beat a 360 Challenge Stradale from a rolling start!... We had a little race last Saturday at the Nürburgring's F1-track, and I started in 3rd position, just behind a (modded) Impreza and a 360 CS. Both the CS and I passed the Impreza, and I couldn't believe it, but I passed the CS about 150-200m before the first turn. After a few more turns, everybody was out of sight...

But yep, the CS sounded better...

    Greetings,
    --Pierre

Re: Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

What about the Carrera GT that was there?

Re: Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

Yes, there was a black CGT there as well. I only saw it in front of the hotel, and not on the track. I doubt the guy took it for a spin. Not much of a report, huh?... I'll post a few pics later.

Re: Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

"now with 159'680 km on the clock!"

And still racing ... truly impressive. Hard to beat Porsche reliability and durability.

Most important: did the CS driver offer an excuse for his defeat? I keep a list of excuses with me at all times for just such occasions ....

    Cheers and regards, Will

Now, zat's the kind of sense of humor I like!

No, the CS driver just didn't mention it and avoided the subject. I didn't go ask, but I guess he was preparing a good one to explain why he could only take about 50 m from the (modded, quite powerful and well-driven) Mitsu Impreza that was following him...

    Greetings,

Re: Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

Could it be possible that the driver of the Ferrari was not as experianced as you maybe??

Re: Stradale - Track Experience w/Brakes?

Probably, yep! However, I really didn't expect to take him on the straight. Anyway, the whole event was great fun.
    Greetings,
