Spectacular scenery, many thanks for sharing with us. Hey Editors / moderators, where is the Tours Board we asked for?? Please

    Re: Road Trip!

Great pictures. In fact, I never considered Aspen worth mentioning apart from Wintertime. My next US vacation was indended to be in CA, your post makes me consider turning that route into some sort of roundtrip incl. Aspen, Denver and Yellowstone.

    Thanks for that insight!

Thanks for the kind words about the pictures posted. I kept them to a minimum and didn't want all of them to be car pics so I threw in a few scenery shots.

If you do make it to Aspen I highly recommend staying at the Little Nell hotel. A fabulous hotel and my personal favorite. My wife and I enjoy going to Aspen and the high light is always staying there. Their web address is: www.thelittlenell.com

Slim! I knew it was a 997 by the headlight pattern. They had their head lights on and I spotted them quite a distance back. :-)

    Re: Road Trip!

I'm the (very) proud owner of the pictured '08 Macadamia Metallic C2S. We ran with you for a while until I got off I-15 in Mesguite, NV. It was mid-afternoon Monday, September 24th, my birthday. The P-car is a my (60th) birthday present, and I was running up to Mesquite to "opening it up" a bit. I went well into the mid-triple digits. I didn't get scared until the next day after I had time to think about it. I doubt if I'll ever do that again, but what a way to celebrate my 60th birthday. Unbelievable!! Interestingly, it was great having you out there in your P-car, it was like having a friend with me to help celebrate. I'm sure you noticed there were a few other "hot shots" out there in various vehicles trying to "hang" with us, but couldn't even come close to staying with us. Man, that was great day!!!

Vegasguy: WOW! Congratulations on your P-car and welcome to Rennteam! It sure was great meeting up with you on the road and running it as we did. I don't know if you noticed but we were just pulling back ONTO the highway from some minor little pull off road. My wife thought she heard something flapping from under the car and we figured it was safer to pull off and investigate. It turned out to be nothing but the wind, uhh.. at "some rates of speed" wind can sound different. ;-) As I was pulling back on and accelerating I could tell that it was a 997 coming up from the rear. That is why it may have seemed that we were just daddling in the right lane and then just gunned it in behind you once you were up next to us.

Were you still in the break-in period on that day? My car isn't an "S" and a couple of times I thought you were trying to lose me. You didn't and my non-S still had lots of power to go. You are right, we were running at a great clip and I wanted to keep a good distance between us in the event the traffic conditions changed. I am sure you were looking as far down the highway as I was and the left lane was clear for miles. There were a few others that did try to hang with us, but oh it wasn't their day!

My wife took about 6 shots of your car. If you want the others send me a PM with your email address and I'll send them to you. I'm off to London on Saturday for a week (business) so if I don't respond its not that I am ignoring you its just that I haven't found the time to get on here and check.

I'm glad that we could celebrate your birthday with you in such a special way. Your car looks stunning. Macadamia is a wonderful color.

I look forward to seeing you around Rennteam more!

    Puffy

p.s. I "blocked" out your license plate in the event you didn't want it posted on this forum. :-)

    Re: Road Trip!

Hello again! Thanks for the offer of the pictures. Actually, I wasn't trying to lose you (I enjoyed seeing your car out there). I only had about 700 miles on the car, and was just running it alternately slow, fast, and "scald the dog" for some break-in miles. Honestly though, I quickly realized the car is quite capable of speeds far beyond my driving skills, and prudent operation on a public highway. Thanks again, and check out my post on the 997 Turbo Board, under "Coolest License Plate Holder," remembering that the car was my birthday present.
