i kindda dont get it, being on GT5 is probably one of the best publicity moves they could've made. why not go for it?? they could use a little positive light thrown their way.

Rumored reason is, they have an exclusive deal with another game.
I can only speculate if that is true or not, but if true, what was Porsche thinking when they signed such a deal???
Imagine you have to call your friends saying "sorry guys, but I cannot visit you in France, Porsche has an exclusive deal with another country so they cannot allow me to drive in France. "

Lastly, it sounds like Porsche will not make it into Gran Turismo 5. As disappointing as this was for Kazunori, Porsche signed an exclusive arrangement elsewhere and will probably not be included. It looks like Porsche fans will have to wait.

well one option could be that the game goes on sale without porsche on the inicial lineup and then the cars may become available for download or purchase through the online gaming system. sure it takes some of the "begining of the game" fun but it could also bring new life to the game for when some people start to get bored with it or have already completed most of it. you know something to look forward to so the game doesn't loose its appeal.
