So how does one fit one of these large, damaged tires into a P/F, even if these cars were equipped w/spares????

And don't a lot of guys get killed/injured each yr while attempting to repair/replace a flat alongside fwys/major roads, when some typically sloppy driver chatting on their phone smashes into the disabled car in their way/alongside the road??

It's a car....unfortunate stuff periodically happens to every car (incl Lexus/Toyota).....can't carry spare engines/software code/fuel pumps, etc w/you.....sure, it's always more risky to leave affluent parts of major metro regions....but we all place our own bets that make sense to us on a risk/reward basis.....

Pretty poor service
I'd rather lose the 20 litres of stowage space up front and have the temporary spare of the last generation - the foam and compressor is fine for small punctures, but for anything more than a pinprick its useless.
Not sure i think much os the spare wheel factory option either..

I think every car should have a spare tire. I travell a lot, and I also had many flat tires. So I really don't want stuck somewhere on the autobahn in the middle of the night.
The future is Runflat Tires. I don't understand why porsche didn't use this for the 997. In this class it should be standard. This is for sure the safest solution, since have a flat tire while driving is one of the most dangorous things.

Some of the stuff I'm putting in my 997 S just in case.
Upper row, left to right: kitchen sack, stoves, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pads, roll-up table, sleeping bag.
Lower row: clothes 1, clothes 2, welding kit, long tool box, ratchets/sockets sack, pliers/screwdrivers bag, wrench bag.

Hmmmmm! Do I detect just a trace bit of sarcasm here?! And I thought I was sarcastic.
Isn't that why there's AAA?
Strad, you forgot another important item-a spare 3.8L normally aspirated M97 engine, in case the stock engine grenades as you try to keep up with your buddies' M430's and Ford GT's.

I really hate to be in the position of defending PAG, but, do you have any proof that the decision was made in the pursuit of profits? Couldn't it have possibly been made because the market doesn't want a spare wheel in a sports car such as the Carrera?
