928:Still a beauty

Was looking into buying a 928 and came across a couple of homepages.

Dr. Phil,

I don't know what you'd plan to do with a 928, but there is a very lively 928 forum on rennlist. Many of those guys have supercharged their 928s as well as other mods...maybe you'd enjoy reading their posts.

Doc, The 928s are indeed still looking beautifull after all these years. I would go for a late model GT or GTS with a manual shift. However, have you considered looking into the 993s as well? If you did give us your feedback on them. I still think they are one of the best Porsches ever built.

Hisham, I dont know very much about the 993 or the 928 GT for that matter.
I just find the 928 truly beautiful in the later model versions, have heard a lot of good about its handling...and of course - like probably a few others in here - got influenced by Tom Cruise

and "Risky Business". So if anyone has a small pier for sale I can complete my retro-pathetic midlife crisis trip

Buying a 928 is just a quirky idea of mine - and sadly a lot of those ideas end up in either my garage or basement..hehe..but it's partly up to the danish tax system how much it will run me total.

The 993 I will check out also.
just get the impression that it's a lot harder to handle than the later 911s?

I agree Doc,
Ferdinand's favourite Porsche: The 928 GTS!
Superb V8, astronomical servicing costs!!!

But fantastic GT even by today's standards.
If you can, you must!
Truly superb, other 928 are also great but for me, the GTS takes the crown!

IMHO, the 928 looks like a 'chewing gum discus after an attempted world record throw'.

Never liked its lines.
