    987S Build Delay

    Has anyone heard of any delays on the 987S?
    I got a message from my salesman today saying that my car (scheduled for February Production) is delayed and won't be built until March 21st or 22nd. My 987S order is for:

    Guards Red with black top
    Sand Beige interior with Sand Beige Floormats
    Bose
    19" Carrera S wheels
    Sports Seats
    Sports Steering Wheel
    Bi-Xenon
    Automatic Climate Control
    Colored Wheel caps

    I know in the UK around the January timeframe my dealer was told not to take any orders for sand interiors unless it was with full leather as Porsche were having supply problems with the non-leather colour coded bits. Wonder whether it's anything along those sort of lines?

    My 987s was scheduled for a 2/28 build. On 3/1 I got the call with the VIN. Just learned today that its onboard a ship that will arive Baltimore on 3/16. Must be something with your spec that is in short supply. I am Basalt Black/Cocoa.

    My GT Silver/natural brown leather 987S was scheduled for production on 2/28 and completed production on 2/24. No further updates beyond that. I'm assuming it's on a ship by now. Dealer says that the actual schedule and the computer status reports can be off substantially.

    Porsche had a problem with demand for Sand Beige in the 997, maybe it has trickled into the 987 production run.
