i test drove the 997S for the first time today.. it was everything i ever expected from a porsche.. except.. i felt it should have been faster!
My order of 997S will not be delivered till december and i feel so pressured to add powerkit.. that said..
i don wanna be disappointed with feeling a very minute diffrence from this kit.. i want to feel a diffrence pull from the engine with this kit.. the powerkit has a hefty price tag on it and i could really tick either every option in the porsche catalog OR get this..
Any reviews or performance info on the powerkit would be seriously appreciated
Peace
I enjoy my 997 Carrera S mostly for the fantastic suspension/steering setup. This car is so much fun.
Would I love to have more power? You bet. I owned a 996 Turbo with more than 543 HP, I still remember the fantastic power feel. I enjoy a similar feel in my Cayenne Turbo Powerkit but of course this thing weights 800 kg more than my former 996 Turbo.

The question is: for what purpose do you need more power?
The 997 Carrera S does 0-100 kph in around 4.6 seconds and 0-200 kph in 16.1 seconds. There are not many cars out there in the same price class which have the same performance.
If you are not satisfied (the 997 Carrera S is from 0-200 kph slightly faster than the 996 Turbo Tiptronic, 996 GT3 MkI, Ferrari F 355, Ferrari F 360 Modena, BMW M3 Coupe E46 (incl. CSL), Audi RS6, etc.), maybe you should go for a step higher and wait for the 997 Turbo.

This is what I'm going to do, hopefully I can afford it.
