    Rewriteable CDs & PCM Audio

    Has anyone tried to use rewriteable CDs in the 997 CD player? Curious and beginning to realize how much I will miss my aftermarket CD/MP3 player and TV/DVD player in my current Porsche (non-MOST). My saleman just told me that my "6 December build" 997S was just built yesterday (even have a VIN to go with that report) and that it may arrive before Christmas. Yippy and yikes at the same time. I have to sell my old car quick!

    Yes, both CD-R and CD-RW both work in CD slot and in CDC-4 changer. CD-Text is recognized, too, if present on disc.

    TV/DVD player, thats the most ridiculous I could imagine in a sports car.

    Does that mean it reads MP3 CDs?

    So I can put like 100s of songs on a CD and it can read them?

    No, but you can make your own compliations of about 15 songs, same as a commercial CD

    That's the same as the current CD player on my 996... bummer

    and no ipod solution in sight- I didn't order the 6 CD changer b/c I figured the CD player would either read mp3 CDs or there would be an easy iPod solution by now !! Looks like I'm screwed !!!

    You can have the 6-CD changer installed by the dealer.
