Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

At $69,000 that is an absolute performance bargain.

Does anyone know how many they will produce?

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

Wow... even though that thing is ugly as hell, at 69K it truly is a performance bargain. I hope this makes some of the 'other' companies step up to the plate.

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

Wow.... That is very cheap indeed...

No doubt it will more like Pounds69k ($138k) here in the UK... Not so much of a bargain

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

What is the base price of a 997 Carrera in the US
You know, the one with 155 hp less than the GT-R

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

    It's $73,500. For the 996 (Mk. I, maybe II) it was $69,000.

And the 997 Turbo (which has the same hp as the GT-R) has a baseprice of $126K, which means that I could buy a GT-R for myself and a $55K soccer-mom car for my wife (the very cool Infiniti FX45 f ex), if I lived in the US, for the same price as a base Turbo.... gee let me think about that one for about a nanosecond

Very nice pic of the GT-R (and Carlos Ghosn) in LA

Dirt cheap...Wish we could get those prices...

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

It is(or will be) for sure cheap in USA but, in good old Europe it will cost around Euro 80K plus local VAT.

And I still hate the way it looks...

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

It does have the coolest Brembo brakes I've ever seen standard on a street car. Makes the Porsche ones look tiny and insubstantial. Floating rotors too...

Those are 20" wheels for purposes of scale.

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

I still think I'd rather have a base 911 over the new GTR. I think I'd enjoy it more.

Sadly, I think once a person is an true aficionado for a certain brand, they usually will never change.

Even if the GT-R gave a ring time of 7:15 with Horst Von Saurma behind the wheel
you will never see one in the same garage as a 911.

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

Not to mention I don't plan on bringing my car of choice to the Nurburgring any time soon, or a track for that matter. The 911's seem to have a certain soul, and even though I have never driven a GTR, I can bet it has very little, if any, of that soul.

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

Hot car for the price but I will ake any 911 over the nissan. In all honesty I would take the Z06 over the nissan too

I'd rather have a used GT3 over either one

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

I have to say that its growing on me... I'd stick with my TT no doubt, but between the z06 (the real competition) and the GTR... I think I would lean to the GTR for the 4 wheel drive and probably being able to mod the hell out of it and if I blow it up not as expensive a mistake as grenading a TT.

Well that's a given! I was just saying for the brand new car price.

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

    Ugly.

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

that is an amazing price... however, would a person get that over a porsche? or a M3? or used M5? I don't think so.

Won't get it over a Porsche, but will definitely get it over any M3, M6, Z06,...

I was a GT-R person but as Nissan seemed to be going nowhere I changed and left them behind and bought a 997 C2S.

Had the new GT-R not arrived I would have been in the market for a 997 Turbo or Gallardo. As it is, I have paid my deposit for a GT-R and am spending the rest on a loft conversion! Result!

My 997 never excited me. It never gave me any wow factor like my old GT-R did. And the badge isn't a problem for me either. You can park a GT-R anywhere. In 7 years of GT-R ownership never once did the car attract any 'unwanted' attention!

I have to agree you won't see them both in my garage, because the 911 will have been sold!

Re: Nissan GT-R Price in USA revealed $69k

I didin't like this car at all when it was first revealed, but now it's definately growing on me. I might just give this one a try and see if I like the PDK type transmision before the 998TT (that I've had a deposite on) comes out.

Me want a black one, it looks REALLY mean.

Wonder how much it's going to be in Canada, if it's asking around the same as the US pricing, it will be a great beater car for 997 Turbo owners, cheap enough to just park it and leave it an not worry about parking dings or idiots crashing into it in the parking lot, and with 4 snow tires it will also be excellent to be a winter car in place of the Turbo.
