    Next Porsche Supercar??

    Anyone know if Porsche plans to build a Carrera GT replacement, if so i think porsche should build next super car totally based on the 917K, just as ford did with the gt. I think they would sell better than the CGT.

    Interesting idea! An update of prior successful race cars would allow Porsche to offer almost unlimited opportunities. My favorites are the 906 and the 962.

    well whatever they're planning....dont hold your breath waiting for it! I'd say it'll be at least 8-10 years before they produce another "supercar"

    well it sure helps the Porsche made money off off their CGT, which they I think did not even count on.. Their CGTs succes might make it way more realistic for them to consider making another supercar soon. However, the new Cayenne is coming up and Porsche is still busy with their Panamera.. I'd love to see a 904..

    I think a Cayman Clubsport is as close as we're gonna get to a 904. Will weigh more than twice as much as a real one too

    There have been rumors of a GT1 revival based on the upcoming 997 Turbo. But maybe we should first wait for the CGT to end it's production cycle in april 2006.

    The spiritual successor to the CGT will be project E3 (E2 is Panamera). E3 is a mid-engined, V10 supercar sharing parts with the 998 and 988, due a few years after the 998 and 988. Targetted at the Gallardo's successor.

    I dont know but I hope they make some weight savings. For a car to be made of carbon fiber and weigh over 3k pounds doesnt seem right.

    Price-wise? I don't think so.

    next gen Gallardo vs E3 : both mid-engined, both V10, both similarly priced.
