Some new info from someone who knows about the race car version:
As nobody has seen the street Ford GT or what it has internally, as a street car. would knock your socks off. The technology in the chassis, the suspension, the aero is way past what Ferrari has done on the 458/488. The Ford GT street car is as close to a race car as you can do and still be street legal.
Some of the stuff is very, very cool: More like an LMP car than a GT car. All of this is on the street car:
1.) Carbon tub that is unique in the world as far as design/mfg. Nobody else has a tub like this.
2.) LMP style rocker arm suspension front and rear. And uses torsion bars the way they are used on an LMP car. Co-axial with the rocker. Same as most F1 cars. Also a first on a road car.
3.) Fixed driver position with moveable pedal and steering pack. Not first on a street car but need to buy a LaFerrari to get same thing.
4.) Fully working. massive rear diffuser on street car. Bloody effective.
5.) Adjustable rear wing, low drag, "race" and airbrake positions available.
6.) Front suspension is a "Zero keel" design, like many F1 cars. Unique to any road car.
7.) Fully raised, boat hull nose/underbody on car. Right off an Audi/Toyota LMP1 car. Very unique-and only car on earth with it. Yes-On the street car!
8.) Speed adjustable ride height. Not unique but the spring rates also change with the ride height change. And that is pretty unique.
And on.....

First deliveries should be by the end of this year. More press stuff should start rolling in. This car is going to be nuts in terms of track performance. Does the track mode trick a la P1 -- drop 50mm, wing shoots up.

Here's a video of it showing things more in-depth, albeit low quality. Might need to be signed into FB.

I like the idea of a raising wing whereas the chassis will drop. Never been a fan of huge fixed wings, that's a thing of the eigties IMO and always doubted the downforce fairy-tales of modern Ferrari, which sit simply much too high to achieve these numbers.
An automatically lowered chassis and extractabale wings could be the solution if you want or need to have both, optimum high speed performance and acceptable day to day usability.

Your post is one of the things i didn't like about Luca's philosophy. He hated wings and said they make cars look like classless racer-toys (paraphrasing), and that lambo has gone off the true path compared to ferrari, although that statement could've been made as a regard to being mid-engined. As a fan, it hurts to see ferrari constantly fall short of the downforce numbers in an effort to make a classy looking car, versus wings and spoilers like everyone else. Just out of curiosity, how does macca make their downforce without massive wings on the LT. Also, has anyone heard of downforce numbers for the GT?

Couldn´t agree more, I hate pimp wings and silly spoilers, nothing like a powerful discret beast on the road without the show off need of those items. Use it only when it´s needed like Ford is making, just perfect, I love this car and think it has it all...well, only V8 engine is missing
but I´v heard it sounds amazing even with a V6.

I don't mean tons of downforce, what i mean is that maccas seem to produce their downforce much like they claim, unlike ferrari seems to do, but they do seem to put down the lap times, though. I remember seeing somewhere on mclife, that some wrote the LT made about 300kg of downforce at 300kph, while the 488 makes around 325 at 250kph.
noone1:Benchmark in what way? Can't imagine a GT3 is even in the same timezone as the Ford GT when on a track.
Agree. Maybe benchmark for build quality and ride comfort??

noone1:Still should have applied, Whoopsy. It's essentially free money if you got one. Worst case you just sell it and pocket a bunch of money.
I have some sort of standard.
To be able to qualified as a proper hyper car, it needs to have at least a V8 or more.
Just having a pickup truck V6 is an automatic disqualification!
The only exception might be the V4 919 for having less than a V8.
noone1:Well, considering it's less than an Aventador, I wouldn't hold it to the same standards as a hypercar, though the 918 may need some new tires to keep up with it on the track ;)
Hmm, my old Turbo S also out performs the Aventador and cost less. So what the point again?
About the only cars that can out perform my old car 0-60 are the new 991.2 Turbo S and the 918.........
