    Electrical Type Whining Noise

    Hi Guys,

    Need your help. Am having a electrical type whinning noise coming from what seems to be coming from the front of the car(could be wrong) when accelerating from 85km/h to 95km/h and above. Sound is especially clear when you release the gas pedal after accelerating within this range. Anyone experience this kind of problem before. My turbo has only done 2,000km so far and have tried switching climate control off and its still the same.Would appreciate some feedback here.Car is with dealer now and they say its the turbine noise but I really dont recall hearing this when I first collected the car Cheers

    My car had an intermittent whining noise coming from the front. It sounded most like an alternator type of noise and disappeared on its own after 4,000 miles. The mechanic at the local dealer could not isolate the source.
    Rumour from another mechanic indicated that 996's needed an electrical component to isolate alternator noise.
    An accurate diagnosis of this past annoying noise would be appreciated.

    Thanks AE. Guess I can only hope that it will go away once the mileage increases. I doubt my dealer can sort the problem out as they are telling me that the noise is from the turbine. I find that difficult to believe as I only started hearing it recently and never noticed any noise earlier. Cheers!
