SIRIUS/997 Carrera S

Love the Sirius Satellite System, but understand there isn't an indash application available from Porsche. I love the BMW Sirius system, where you simply push the Mode button to go from AM/FM/CD/Satellite. Understand that there is an application from the Cayenne, but is almost $2,000. And I don't want a velcro receiver of my $99,000 car.

Any suggestions?

I understand it is difficult to now purchase the SAT kit without actually owning a Cayenne. Maybe those guys can help you out. I've been thinking of contacting them myself but the thought that Porsche will offer the kit directly for the 997 keeps me at bay.

Yes like you a velco'd Sat controller in a 100K car just doesn't seem right. You can also check out Suncoast Porsche in Fl @ http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/mercha...ry_Code=996int. I am trying to plan a trip down. Since it is a long way for me I am tinking of doing the Sat, PSE, and Carbon Fiber Wheel.

Porsche teased us with the Sirius Satellite System, then somehow it went away, or didnt show up on the 997.

I was told way back it would be on my 06 997, but then there was a retraction!!!

Sirius make a small unit that adheres with suction cups. It's as small a a radar detector, and the antenna is just a magnet. I put my sirius unit above my rearview mirror in my daily driver, and it's nice and out of the way. Maybe you could go that route.

(Ok, just looked at Sirius.com, and the model I have isn't on there anymore, but they are coming out with the radar detector sized SV1 unit)
