    Shelby is pretty much the only 500hp real 4 seat stick shift convertible out there.

    for another $250 you can change the supercharger pulley and get 75 more hp.

    Jim, 500 HP should allow any reasonably quick car to trap higher than 114 in the quarter...this car weighs 4000 lbs...a Carrera S can beat this in the one thing that it does, drag racing. and yes, modifications do open up something new, but that can be said for any car...

    Yeah it should be faster, but the main problem is traction off the line. In a roll on it would be much different.

    Yeah its 4000lbs - but it does seat 4 and does have a stick!

    Supecharged cars are the cheapest to get more power from - so its not like going back to the dealer to get a X51 rebuild upgrade/swap or RUF SC it etc..

    And 1/4 mile trap speed isnt everything! Just think how much this car understeers - lol - The shelby tradition continues! Rest be assured its cast iron engine and heads can always be turned into a art deco yacht anchor.

    really though for - a fun summer car that seats 4 and is a convertible I cant think of anything more fun.

    oh i agree, I think it would be a blast, and it does have character...handling no lol, but...swap that pulley/ecu, give it a viscious exhaust and its 1967 all over! anyway to strip a a few hundred pounds out of this thing?

    I raced one of those last weekend with my S2000 and put 3 lengths on him by 125. They are not fast by todays standards.

    Wow, you've got to be kidding me.
    Is your car modded? I believe you, but seems hard to believe b/c the GT500 runs a better 1/4 mile and has so much torque.

    The 500+ Shelby does 60 in under 4.7 secs, and the last time I checked, the 240 BHP S2000 does so in around 6.something.
    I know the Shelby is heavy and the S2000 isnt, but the Shelby has huge loads of torque and more than double the BHP than the S2000.

    Sorry if I steal your thunder , but you must have either raced someone who didnt manage to shift the gears or you have a seriously pumped up Honda.

    It's not unusual to see boosted 2 liter S2000s running 400+ rwhp while maintaining a svelt <2800 lbs.
