    Speaking of trust in one's own product. When was the last time a Supertest vehicle had significant mileage?

    What'd be the price for a sole engine conversion at Ruf? After all, no matter wether the price is justified or not, there seems to be a fair share of customers willing to spend that money on a car. Customer support seems to be tremendous and that premium over a GT2 buys you more than just a couple additional horsepower.

    After all, decide for yourself.

    Price being the same, I would take the RT12 every time!

    The RT12 has a great engine and this is giving it an advantage in straight line, however aerodynamics do not seem to have worked right for RUF, front lift and insufficient downforce in the rear is not helping with handling in mid- high speed turns, they both do help however with high speed acceleration runs.

    The suspension also does not seem to be a full success story. One needs to keep in mind the weight disadvantage however.

    All of this comparing to the factory 997GT2, which is of course a very striong rival. Even the 997 GT3, 997TT and 996GT3 have faster speeds than the RT12 in quite a few of these turns listed below as well.

    Some data by looking at the times turn by turn (first is the 997GT2, second RT12) show quite clearly the disadvantage of the RT12's handling and weight.

    - Dottinger Hohe: 293 kph vs. 308kph (great strength for the Rt12 in straight line acceleration)

    - Hatzenbachbogen: 152 kph vs. 145kph RT12

    - Flugplatz: 172kph vs. 171kph RT12

    - Shwedenkreuz: 266kph vs. 270kph (again high speeed RT12)

    - Aremberg: 105kph vs. 100kph

    - Fuchsrohe: 252 kph vs. 246 kph

    - Metzgesfeld:160 kph both the same

    - Ex-Muhle: 121kph vs. 111kph RT12

    - BergWerk: 106 vs. 108 kph (RT12 wins here)

    - Kesselchen: 249 kph vs. 250 Kph (RT12 wins again)

    - Klosteral 1: 165 Kph vs. 178 Kph (RT12 crashes it)

    - Hohe Acht: 116Kph vs 109 Kph

    - Brunnchen: 111Kph vs. 108 Kph

    - Pflanzgarten: 196 Kph vs. 189 Kph

    - Schwalbenschwanz:229 Kph vs.227 Kph

    Slalom 36 m:

    - 997 GT2: 139 Kph
    - RT12: 134 KPh
    - 997TT: 134 Kph

    Another couple of weaknesses:
    80-180 Kph in 5th gear:
    997TT: 9.6s.
    RT12: 10.5 s

    80-180 Kph in 6th gear:
    997TT: 13.5s
    RT12: 15.7s.

    This can't be compared in my oppinion, because the RT12 has a much longer gear transmission ratio -> topspeed 361km/h

    that particular Rt12 is a bit tired and does not display the most representative numbers per Rt12,i ve had that car for a month and then got mine - visibly faster and much tighter,that car is already quiet loose in comparison to a new one but still in the hands of a few guys i know from Ruf i think the numbers would have looked better...
    otherwise i subline what was said above i;e the Rt12 accelerates much harder,is autobahn oriented and with a few further mods can exceed the qouted price by quite a bit,anyway i do not think that Rt12 buyers are alternative Gt2 buyers - on other basis than nbrg time...

    Now, you only need RS6 Avant as replacement for your A8 W12. 997 GT2 and RS6 Avant-perfect combo.

    Indeed, the RS6 seems to be a great car. Although I must admit that a 12-cylinder engine has its adavantages. That silky sound, lack of vibrations. I am very happy with the W12

    exactly my point - you have changed your mind basis things like compromise and depreciation...
    these,usually, are not the purchase decision influencing factors for buyers of new Rufs
    from the few owners i know,it's more like passion,uniquness,allaround performance/driveability, superior quality and service as noted here and personal contact with the people at Ruf as btw many Ruf owners are repeat customers

    Incorrect, the RT12 has shorter gearing in both 5th and 6th vs. the GT2. The RT12 has somewhat taller tires however.
    The reason for this difference in acceleration are the VTG turbos of the TT.
