Sorry to hear that! Dont have my car yet so dont take me that seriously but this used to happen to me all the time with an old MAC I used to have.
There may be a pinhole near where the CD is inserted, you'll need a straightened out paperclip to stick in there. With enough pressure it should manually eject the CD.

You're right about the car having a mind of it's own. Mine sucked in CD and never gave it back. After two trips to dealer service the whole PCM eventually was replaced. Keep your fingers crossed. In my case the CD remaining IN the player resulted in a constant current draw and a dead (ruined) battery which was also replaced. Seems like a good idea never to leave a CD in player while car sits.

Me too MMD. Day 1, new car, CD went in took 2 days for it to give me back!! Tried it again. 2 more days -it didn't play - and I got it back. New PCM.
For Motomodz-If they have to fit one make sure everything works before you leave the dealership. They took 3 goes to make it all work-they forgot to put all the codes back in managing PSE, sport chrono display and so-on and I made 3 visits in the first 2 days I had it back!

Take your car to the dealership. There is a bulletin out for this matter. If your PCM is not yet "eating" CDs, then a firmware update should stave off the problem. If it is already eating them, your PCM will be replaced. Upside: if you have an '05, you'll have MP3 capability after the PCM swap.

It's not a recall, because a recall is federally mandated due to a safety issue. It's a "quality update" which is a no cost to you fix when Porsche figures out it has a glitch with a component. Call your service department and ask about it. I can try to obtain a bulletin number on Monday.

I just had this happen to me this weekend 
Went to load a cd and it wouldn't take it in. Then I pushed a little harder and it got jammed in the opening. Sometimes I can't believe the things I say. 
Anyway very annoying! If anyone has any suggestions, please post otherwise its a trip to the dealer.

I had this problem a few days a go in my 06 997 C4S. It first could not read it aned the rnd then would not eject. I then turned the radio unit off and it would still not eject. I turned the car off and it would still not eject. I waited a 10 minutes and I restarted the car and I could then easily eject the CD now. I had the same problem with the Cayenne when it first came out. They had a firm ware update and it seemed to fix the problem. Then I started up again and they repalced the whole communication unit, navigation and all. The problem was solved. I hope I do not face this problem again. I will speak to the dealer and see if I can get the firm ware patch...Thanks

Which dealer did you bring yours into? I see that you are in CA, I am keeping my fingers cross hoping you are in southern california so I can go there. I called the one in newport, and they have no idea what i am talking about.

Sorry I am in N.CA but they can call Neillo Porsche in Rocklin CA to get the details. I havent taken the car in but I am schedule for oil change and fixing this problem at Neillo Porsche this SAT. The person to talk to is Jim Webber in Service department. Here is the link. Good luck.

I had the same problem on my 2006 997S: mp3 disc was not recognized and did not eject until after I turned the car off and listened for it to stop spinning. They eventually used this flash software update called "W610 Campaign", that fixes this problem. Ask your service manager for it.
