    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

Kreso, do you know if there will be a Supertest from SA of the AMG GT? I know there was one with HvS from AZ, but not from SA.

Already done but, put in the "drawer". Why? I do not know since Ring time is pretty good (almost the same as HvS for AZ).

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

Thank you. Maybe they will bring it during the winter months. Was it tested by CG?

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

According to Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers:

This summer we’ll be bringing out the next performance level of the GT [which likely will be called GT R]. There will be more power and speed but this sports car won’t be like a Black Series or anything you might expect. While it’s too soon to talk in detail, this version of the GT will have active aerodynamic features for markedly improved performance. ...

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

I don't know how much of a success the GT is in Germany: I have seen two cars in Stuttgart last summer but over here in Bavaria, I haven't seen a single car on the road since. Very weird. Not one!

I see Porsche 991(!) basically every day, usually 2-3 cars.

I have seen only ONE GT on the road, strange.

Go to Munich Maximilian Strasse and you might see one of the two running in Munich Smiley

In Stuttgart you see some cars, but most of them are wearing that little orange sticker on the windscreen Smiley Smiley Other than that, I know some guys in Frankfurt which ordered the car long before in order having it first. Only one of them received the car, 2 are waiting and 2 others never picked it up, right away passed on it.

The car drives great and looks ok. But since they took the look to A-B-C-S..... Class, it is not much special left on it. It is a pity how a brand can ruin their Halo cars when taking over to much of the things to the rest of the line up.

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

Still haven't seen one in the UK on the roads. (there are more SLS & SLR than AMG-GT!)

I'm once a month in Munich and always see some. I already thought that Mercedes is parking the car in the Maximilian-Strasse as it was every time there when I left the Hotel Smiley

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

A bunch of them popped up here when it first cameout. Now, I hardly see any.

    I say bring on SLS 2.0 !!

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

I've seen one in an an upscale business/housing/shopping area of Northern VA. Looked better in the flesh to me. I actually quite like the car even though there is no way I would get one.

exactly! Same with the new Jag. That car is a steel - very affordable, great design, lots of fun. But only two seats!

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

There are some in Zurich, saw around 5-6 different cars.

I think the GT is too expensive and a roadster version is missing.

A GT roadster will sell much better...

4 seats, convertible, distinct look from the rest of the lineup... The GT had no chance right from the start without these.

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

It looks nice in black on the road, but way too expensive.

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

SLS is a 2 seater and it sold very well.

That's very impressive. remember it's not a reg Merc model.

The plan was to build a total of 10k. I think they easily reached that number with both the coupes and roadsters.

The numbers AMG told me was 6000 Coupes and 5000 Roadster.

Think - Porsche just build 1600 GT3 RS. They build 35.000 911s annual. So the numbers are quiet low. I heard that AMG wants to sell and build 8.000 GTs a year - so the SLS is rare. It might be different in UAE, where you find for sure a lot of those cars concentrated on a pretty small area

    Re: AMG GT Thread Closed

The SLS and GT are single models, like Porsche's Turbo / Turbo S. Of course they will build less cars than Porsche with their variety of variants.

The GT is a great car and looks good in person but I have also seen very few on the road. Mostly in Stuttgart, to be honest.
