    997S cab + way overboard on 'personal' mods= bad for resale

    It looks like a nice audio system, but this poor guy will be lucky if he ends up recovering 60% of his investment.

    I am all for making your car look unique

    but these cars are ugly. Around here they say Dumb A** Drug Dealer! I particularily hate the two tone "Carrera S". Either Red or Chrome would have been better then both!

    I guess this proves that you don't have to have class to be rich!

    The problem is that it looks cheap. The leather looks like crap and the seat's design is bad. You don't do cheap mods on a 100K car. You do it right (that will be expensive) or you leave it stock. But you don't do that.

    I wonder what he did with the original seats and everything. Maybe something happened to the car. Floaded one maybe?

    As far as I've heard, that "company" only sales rebuilt cars. In aanother thread, there was a stock 997s but all the panels didn't fit right. Maybe someone can find it. Anyway, that's one company you don't want to buy a car from.

    The guy that "built" this monstrosity (his user name is black/terra) would post on Rennlist and 6speedonline every time he would make a mod and then get into arguments with anyone that disapproved of his modifications. The sad part is there were quite a few members of Rennlist that actually liked what he had done. Go figure.

    I didn't know you could stuff a couple of Barcaloungers into a 911. This has got to be the ugliest, most tasteless 911 to come done the pike in a long time. From the looks of what he has done in such a short period of time it appears money can't buy taste or class.

    It never ceases to amaze me how many people remove Porsche OEM components to make their car 'better.' Over the years I have found the subassemblies, e.g., brakes, suspensions, tranys, etc., to be first rate components that play extremely well together. I just don't get the 'customizing.' It's quite popular with many. I can see it after the warranty period when you wind up making economic trades (e.g., the factory radio costs more to maintain than to install something better for less down the road).

    Dont you usually keep a car if your gonna trick it all out like that. You gotta know the resale aint there, well, completely...right? If I had the cash to collect Porsches I would consider buying it for a few minutes, as cost wouldnt matter right. I dont think its ugly at all. My friend had Polar Silver exterior with Can Can Red interior...Looked like Pure Porsche Hotness!! I did 5k in mods and I am eating it now, but what a way to waste money and still be in Pcar heaven

    I don't like the mods but I guess some people do. Hey if the person can do the mods and sell it why not. I'm not going to buy it but I bet you someone will. I've never got into putting a bunch of mods on my car but look around. There are tons of people who put non OEM exhusts, steering wheels, wheels, etc. They don't go to this extreme but they do it.

    PS. When it comes time to sale your car you will lose money on it not matter what. Remember it is a car and as soon as you sign the papers you have lost 10,000+. Sad but that is how it is. If you don't believe me go buy a car and even before you get out of your seat try and sell it back and see what happens.

    Maybe they have mods? Also I find a 997S wicked but I would not put that on my car. I would not even put the big whale tale on my car but that is another subject all together.

    I had to do some mods, cuz I was a dork and didnt add them to the option order list. Everytime I order a car, I learn something and forget something.
    i.e....
    PSE added after by Porsche
    Shortshifter added after by Porsche


    Ok, so the H & R springs were my idea, dropped it 1.5, you know... I would do it again, the car looks soooo damm sexy, the stock height is just unbearable.

    Yeah..., I guess..., I get what you're saying.

    But I wouldn't call the 3.8 smooth delivery of power output wicked, I'd call it "impressive."

    Gotta save "wicked" for massive amounts of HP.


    Sorry, with all those nutcracking body panel mods on the car in question I gotta call it hugely underpowered.

    Well that's a relief. You scared the sh*t out of me with the pink ferrari. I was starting to think that it was yours.

    I was afraid to misunderstand you as sometimes with foreign languages you just get it all wrong.
