I am in the market for a small automatic 4 door sedan, My first choice is the Alpina B10 with 4.8L but unfortunely I can't get anything Alpina in the US. So my choice only comes down to either a C32, S4, BMW 330i, E500, (W210) E55, Volvo T5, BMW 540i Any opinon?
you're right! alpinas are really nice cars. i will always remember the B12 6.0 biturbo (based on the BMW 7) a friend of my father used to drive. hell of a car.
i read some weeks ago that alpina is coming to the US. first model offered will be the alpina V8 roadster (a Z8 with another engine and auto tranny). but i have no details.
anyway, BMW's 5 series is going to be replaced soon, so i wouldn't recommend it right now.
personally, i would go for a 330i (or, if somehow available, a alpina B3 3.3)
What about the Volvo S60 R? A friend of mine has already ordered it - the first cars are to roll off the assembly lines in February. 300 HP, AWD and a high-tech suspension system (or so Volvo claims <img src="http://www.rennteam.com/w3timages/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />)
Not sure how much you'll use the back seat, but the new Mazda RX 8 sort of has four doors. It is getting some good reviews, will be out in the US in the spring.
