ha:Am I the only one in this forum who doesn't like the rear shape of this car?
No, you‘re not.
In fact it’s not only the rear, the whole car gives me nothing.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.

Not crazy about the appearance of the rear (but do like interior and rest of exterior), but I am especially impressed mechanically (ITB's, 510HP with power peak 150 rpm higher at 8,400 rpm and RS-level torque at 250 rpm higher 6,250 rpm). I am very interested to have this engine making even more power for 1/2 the price in the 992 GT2...
Even with the OPF, the engine weighs 10kg less than before (and probably even lighter still in US version that gets no OPF but does have some internal mesh to emulate the backpressure of the filter).

True but we need to see it live before we can really judge the car.
Didn't have the chance yet though, my Porsche "activities" were pretty low over the past few months. Maybe in early summer I can catch up a little bit my Porsche buddies, it is about time.
First I need to drive the 992 Carrera S though...

My dealer may get one or two. In the past, he never charged ADM on any GT car except for the GT2. He will be changing ADM on the Speedster. I don’t have any interest in the car because it’s manual as well as a few other things. I have alerted my SA not to call me.
l love my RS. Best Porsche I have ever owned.
There is nothing stronger than gentleness.

We have heard that the GT/RS model range will be further expanded, so...
And the word used was “Lifestyle”, so that fits...

I'm afraid so. At some point last year, there was a rumor about a possible 992 GT3 Cab but it was just a weak rumor.
Now it seems that Porsche might actually go for it...

The car is spectacular and special - no doubt!
To me - I have a bit problem with the shape. I don't think it is beautiful. However - it is spectacular.
Further on, the original Speedster was "lightweight". It shows it in every single aspect. It looks light, it feels light. This car looks heavy and I'm sure it feels heavy, too.

I think you nailed the "issues" with this car in a couple of sentences...
Porsche, separates Le Mans from Le Boys
I assume that the certification process was also very straight forward ...Manual only, limited choice of tires, 1948 cars. more or less with the same CO2 footprint etc. , piece of cake... in contrast to the certification nightmare on all the regular models. So, releasing a "limited model" might be the right thing for Porsche to do in the future...

My Huracan Performante is WLTP certified...just saying. Even the cars produced last year were (starting in summer 2018). Porsche and others definitely overslept the WLTP stuff. OK, the particulate filter stuff is a whole different story.

Looking at this picture makes me sad. As a loyal Porsche customer, buying Porsches for 20 years, it was impossible for me to get one. Asked to put my on the list already 2 years ago, no chance. Have on order a Taycan and a 992 Turbo cab, just bought a Cayenne S does not interest Porsche. What really irritated me (to put it mildly) when I asked the question to get me on the list I was ridiculed a bit. So, looking at the present (boring) 992, I might cancel the 922 Turbo order.

This is unacceptable.
Keep pushing buttons at your dealer, other dealers if you really want a Speedster, you never know, I wouldn't give up. Write a letter to Porsche Germany, you never know. However, if the dealer isn't willing to help, things get complicated.

OPC don't care - my 991.1 is the last Porsche I'll buy for similar reasons. These people are the representatives of the brand - it you feel even slightly ridiculed, simply walk away. Plenty more manufacturers willing to take your hard-earned money. I used to have a rapport with my dealership - we've been buying cars since 1988 as a family. Mine is the last.

SciFrog:These limited production runs are ridiculous. They should build enough to satisfy demand. Ferrari should do the same too.
It can backfire as well. SVJ...not sure it sells that good in Germany, I heard that some customers jumped off once the car was "available". Not easy to sell 1700 cars (Coupe and Roadster) at half a million EUR.
I think car manufacturers create this hype for a reason...not always but often.
Oh, I heard that Porsche built over 3000 (rumor is even 3500) GT2 RS. Just saying.

I think that might be a photoshop mistake - don't think the Speedster will have that control in reality
