    What pressure for PZero Corsa's on 996 TT

    I got myself a set of Pirelli PZero Corsa racing tires on a second set of rims to have more grip during track-events. I was wondering if anyone could advise on the appropriate pressure for these tires on a 996TT.

    Thanks for any experienced advise

    Good choice!
    Here's something that should help you. The first 2 values are the cold pressures (front and rear), then the hot ones.

    Spa-Francorchamps on March 18th.
    In May I already scheduled to drive during the annual Porsche Days in Spa as well, from May 5th to 7th.

    For the Ring, I've never driven there so far but I intended to find an occasion to do so this year. When wil you be going?

    Spa is great, yep! Enjoy it!

    As for the N'ring, I'll be there from May 10th to 14th with the Scuderia Hanseat once again. Not cheap, but it's a great (and relatively safe) way to learn to Nordschleife. I'll most probably attend the autumn session too. If you're interested, let me know and I'll give you more details. There might still be a few available slots for May...

    Nice, you'll love 'em. I find that corsas like about another 1 psi over mich sport cups.

    Whats your experiences on tire pressure on the track with Pirelli P-Zero (not Corsa)? In the rain I had to lower 6psi (down to 29 psi) and kept the rear at 41psi (all cold temperatures) because the car was understeering like crazy! What do you guys use on the dry track? Heres what I use...

    Street 34 40

    Track wet 29 40

    Track dry ? ?

    To Pierre or others,
    The Pirelli notice explains that according to the chassis set-up tire pressure should be slightly increased in order not to sollicit to much the shoulders of the tires. Yet the table specifies values specific for 996 TT's. My 996 TT is bone-stock with no increased wheel camber. Should I stick to the specified values??

    Phil, I think you can safely stick to the indicated values. Funnily, Pirelli recommended slightly higher values in 2002 and 2003, then dropped them.
    With my setup (car is quite low and has a bit more camber than stock), the values indicated on the note I published seem to work pretty well. So I think it's a safe bet for your stock setup.
    The only thing is to really check the pressure quite often. You'll be surprised how quick and how much it increases when the tyres get hot! Definitely do avoid driving them with too much pressure or you'll have the impression to be in a boat...
    Oh, and don't forget to check the pressure and add some air when you're done at the track and you drive back home with cold(er) tyres.

    I hope the weather will be OK. Right now the ski slopes near Spa Francorchamps are still open! 20 to 25 cm of snow. The track should be cleared however. Temperatures for saturday are forecasted at -4*C at night and +7*C during the day. Although weather will be dry and sunny, the first runs in the morning will be in rather cold conditions.

    I am currently already driving in the Corsa's. They already feel very "committed". Amazing what gravel they pick up though (10.000km with these on normal roads and you're in for a repaint of the sides of the car .

    Are those tires street legal? They look very extreme!
    Are you going to the Porsche days in Francorchamps? I think I'll be there, I'll be looking for a TT with CD plaques.

    Is it possible I saw your car a couple of times near Watermael-Bosvoorde?

    Corsa racing compounds are street-legal but not Porsche N-certified. For N-certified Corsa's you should aim for the Corsa "System" tires, less radical but very good compromise for combined road-track use. Personaly I bolt on / off my Corsa's before and after the track-driving.

    I will be driving at the P-Days on saturday (but don't look for CD number plates ).

    Yes I drive around Brussels regularly, including Watermaal. I did not spot your weird avatar-face though .
