Grant:You could buy my car with the seats included
:
Sadly selling in preparation for GT3 (better known by Bluelines as the downgrade
).
Sorry to see you sell, I guess now is the "top of the market". Expected release date of 991.2 GT3?
If I lived in a state with sales tax credit for trades, it would be easy to change cars. As it is, changing cars would probably cost around $25k USD.

Oh, yeah that's one of the few tax benefits here in CO - just pay on the difference. The seats are nice, but not THAT nice
GT3 is probably over a year away, but figured I would sell before having to pay more insurance and license plate renewal (and probably worth more in the Summer, so the thinking goes...).
If I can't make an easy private sale, I'll do the Trade-In thing where I'd get a fairly sizable tax credit on the GT3 (and keep my Cup LCA's and Brake hardware to use on the GT3 also).

Maybe we should downgrade together and give all those GT3 RS drivers a chance to (almost) catch up to you?

So you are banking on the manual GT3 being hard fact? Or has it been officially confirmed?

Nothing certain yet. Just want to be in a position to get one if it happens (and also keeping an eye on facelift GT4 - deposit covering both possibilities).

Grant - aren't you running the risk with selling the GT4 now that the new GT3 might be PDK only and the new GT4 might be a Turbo!
Seems a little bit of a gamble to sell quite so early doesn't it?

Hi Adam - I am not too worried. My biggest reason for buying the GT4 was to do Euro Delivery, drive the Ring, Spa, and the Swiss Alps for a month to celebrate 50th bday. That was all spectacular (even better than my sky-high expectations).
My reason for selling the GT4 is to be able to do another Euro Trip (renting a car for the month on road and track in Europe is very expensive - much cheaper and more fun to buy a new Porsche, if it is a desirable model that holds its value). I am hoping that either the next GT3 or GT4 will be fun to drive and hold value. If neither is NA and Manual, it will be a disappointment. But even if I end up with no car (and most of my money back), the experience was great with the GT4 (bucket list stuff)
BTW, nice going with the Aston V12 and Dogleg 7M - nice choice!

They sure will be fun, but will they be as fun as the original?
The next GT3, with or without manual, will sport more electronical and mechanical systems to control the car to help shave off the last milliseconds on the Ring. This car must be the fastest in its class or Porsche has failed. They know this. I suspect such systems add more weight and distance to the involvement of the car, than they ultimately add to the fun factor. Yes, a 4.0l 500hp engine will be great fun, but power is not all as the Turbo S has shown for a long time.
The next GT4, with or without turbo, will surely be faster. With turbo the car is uninteresting IMHO and will make the current GT4 truly unique. The first and last Without turbo it can be interesting if Porsche keeps it basic and simple. I want rawness, not refinement. Then I might upgrade.

Yes, I'll be watching the rumors carefully for the next GT4 also. If they improve the current car (same motor with +25hp), PASM improvements, and Manual without raising the price too much it will be a winner. Just not sure if we have reached the end of the line for the NA GT4 or not...

JZ:I just don't see Porsche going against all of the current 718 marketing BS and putting a NA6 in the '718' GT4. If Porsche want to cement the 718 racer ethos, then a 718 Gt4 (Four!!) will have a 4 cyl engine. Leave the 6 cyl engines for the 'big brother' 911s.
That would certainly make a more coherent marketing message, but some of the info (don't know if reliable) points to at least one more NA6.

Bluelines , you ' ve got to drive an RS. You will see that it is at least as much fun then the superior GT4 !

I am convinced the RS is overall more fun than the GT4, even if EVO did not agree with this, but for twice the price it is also hardly comparable. I still need to drive it obviously

Funny. I was just wondering if someone has hacked Kobalt's account.
If that isn't the case, based on the quote below I really need to get to drive a GT4 :
