vette vs boxster

I was hot to buy the new C6. I drove one and fell in love. I have loved vettes since I was a kid...that was till I read about the 987. A young sales rep took me for a ride on public streets and freeways I'll never forget! My neck is still sore from the G's pulled and my jaw from smiling for 5 straight days and how can I ever forget the mechanical music

After that ride and driving the 987S myself I was relieved I hadn't put $$ down on the Chev.
I'm 55 and retired and as many previous comments suggest...sometimes you need to treat yourself.
I posted the winding road piece on the corvette forum and after reading responses I'm convinced most vette drivers would drive a dump truck if it had the Corvette emblem on it.The "Flat Earth Society" is alive and well in vette land.
I can't wait to order my 987S....but what color.Dreams can come true!

I can understand why big-block cars like the vette are much more popular in North America - I think it's (largely) a whole different driving environment. Straighter, wider roads; cheaper fuel... I know I'm generalising a little.

'Better' is often subjective. Is a piece of quality, scented note paper better for wiping your arse?

The new corvette is the best vette ever and if I was living in the US i would probably drive one (because it has the best value for money in my opinion). Here in Europe the car still has a negative image and I sadly have to admit that image is important to me

I went to look at the Vette before I decided to order my Boxster (wanted to be sure). One dealer told me that I couldn't test drive as they were getting a premium and would call me when there was one that I could look at. Another dealer had two in the showroom - both auto with $10K premium stickers. It was a complete gouge from the get go. To be fair I did find a dealer in Montana that was giving $1500 discounts on limited orders but I'm sorry, I'm not buying any car that a dealer thinks is too good to test drive.

Well, ... Carrera GTs are rarely test driven.

I ordered mine without ever even having a ride in one.

I guess it depends on the circumstances and the car.

Your kidding right? Carrera GTs are bought by collectors and they're never going to be driven.

Clip the nose of a carbon body car on a speed bump and watch the repair bill. You can't just take them to a body shop.

Of course Forbes calls it a car aimed at people "for whom money is as disposable as garbage". 1500 made and just over 200 sold. So I guess you're right, it would depend on the circumstances.

Let me know how many miles you put on the car.

How to decide between the Porsche and Corvette? Just ask yourself which car Batman would prefer to drive and then go buy the Porsche.
