I always love these phrases:
The Diamondbrite process has to be applied professionally by a registered Dealership, Centre or Valeting Service; this is due to the nature of the process and the 6-year guarantee.
Then there are the Aftercare products.
Dealers lining there pockets
Spending the amount of money you are on a 997 won't they toss it in as a gift , since it is so great

I had Diamondbrite put on my 530d BMW for free by the dealer 18 months ago. It is a complete waste of time to be honest. It is only a polish treatment (and not a very good one at that). Polish cannot prevent stone chips and my BMW is metallic black and it didn't stop it from quickly getting swirl marks when washing it either. Don't waste your money. You have been warned.

PCEL treated my 997 with Supaguard on the exterior when they delivered it, and so far (after 3 months), the wax shine is still effective. After cleaning the car still looks waxed, and the water beads on the paintwork.
Not sure how much of this is due to additives applied by my local hand car wash however.

If you really give a damn about the paint finish on your new car you shouldn't even let the dealer wash it, or do any preparation at all. Ask to have it delivered 'in the plastic' and do it yourself. Otherwise you're going to end up with a badly swirled and scratched car. When I look in showrooms at expensive new cars it makes me sick to see what's happened to them. It's rare to see a car without swirls on it, and it just means work for you to put it right.
Another thing, don't get any special treatments, you might aswell set fire to the money, it'll achieve the same thing.
As someone else has said, spend the money getting your own products, and spend some time on the Autopia forum to learn how to properly look after your car's paint.
All of this is just my opinion by the way!

My wife's car has had Diamondbrite treatment, I am happy with it, her car is rarely washed, never waxed and stands out in all weathers, i am certain it stays clearner longer and looks better than it would otherwise.
On my 997S I would not consider it, I am happy to wash and wax it and I agree it is not the best finish for a car that is well looked after. However many people just want to drive their Porsche and feel washing it is a waste of driving time, if that is you a glaze treatment of some sort may make sense.
