    Re: Olive 991.2 GT3 Clubsport

Thanks Watt! Should update my signature, the 500E has found a new home as I got the C63 Estate to move the dog around. That said, I will get one again rather sooner than later, I loved that car. This time I'll get one in my ideal spec (pre-FL, silver with the leather/cloth sport seats)

    This was mine:

For those interested, these are the parts that Manthey fits to the front suspension to give it more adjustability.

    Re: Olive 991.2 GT3 Clubsport

    @Porker

Just a quick question - did your order the front lift with your GT3?

If yes, do you really need it - except for steep underground parking entrances?

With my T and no lift - I had zero problems over the last 5.000Km - even in France with the mid city bumps on the street.

With your info, I will be prepared, if the order-window for the GT3 Touring opens again...smiley

    Thanks

    Re: Olive 991.2 GT3 Clubsport

as far as I understand touring and GT3's front is much lower - hence needed. We have on the RS and GT3 both the lift and would not want to miss it !

    Re: Olive 991.2 GT3 Clubsport

I have the lift. It doesn’t weigh a lot and it gives you an ease of mind. Plus, you’ll get the money back come resale time. Most are looking for lifts...

Lift is just insurance, one may not need it but will be glad when it is needed. I simply don’t understand why people would not order the lift. Like would someone not buy insurance on their car?

    Re: Olive 991.2 GT3 Clubsport

In my part of the world, the lift helps me quite often . I probably could pass , but would need to go side ways, or just scrape a lot the front lip . Once and a while I forget to put the lift and it scrapes quite easily

Agree!  got front lift in my old RS that I need to use each time going in and out of garage.

People that don't order lift and said front lip is cheap doesn't really know what they are talking about.  It was never about cost of front lip, but there are incline that you cannot get in without the lift.

I also seriously doubt that the weight of front lift will affect their track time.  A very poor excuse actually.

The only problem is when they became defective (mine happened last year)...

    Re: Olive 991.2 GT3 Clubsport

The best excuse for not getting the lift is if you expect to upgrade the suspension (to Ohlins, Bilstein, KW, or other coilovers for track use).  When you change the dampers, you lose the hardware for the lift.

These look like a good reason to forget the lift (when using these, you need to fool the car so you don't get PASM errors or lift issues if car had lift option) Smiley

Yep, they even make it lift the rear of the car too...

But not sure this option is available on their most hardcore track coilovers like Variant 4 or Competition (that would compete with the Ohlins model above)

Could you please give me some info to my old question (see above)  - would be really nice.

    Thanks

    Re: Olive 991.2 GT3 Clubsport

Oh sorry I missed that. I don't have lift and I haven't missed it much, yet. Much less than with the 997 RS which had longer overhangs I guess. I do scrape from time to time but it's just plastic. And I avoid underground parkings where possible. That said, I would take it if I would spec it again, it's peace of mind AND would allow you to go for a lower/agressive setting with your suspension.

Regarding Goodwood Revival, it is utterly fabulous, can't recommend it enough.

The colour is very appropriate. It fits the GT3 very well.

Amazing how the winged GT3 blends so well with the city landscape.
