After market PCCB prces

Hi
I am thinking of trading my 997TT with PCCB for a used GT3 (no new available) and no cars in NZ came with PCCB (can't understand why not!) but I have grown to really love PCCB on my TT. I drove a steel braked GT3 and the ride quality and brakes could be improved by PCCB. I am wondering if anyone has any idea on a cost effective way to get new or used PCCB for the GT3 as the TT ones cannot be swapped over (already checked) and my dealer wants about USD 35,000 for parts alone!

Not a simple changeover. The wheel bearings are different as are the "hats." The ABS system has to be adjusted as well to account for the different braking cooefficient. Not simple,--and certainly not inexpensive. Odd that no cars arrived in NZ with PCCB.

Thanks Dan, I thought as much. Yes not a singe GT3, only 2 out of 7 GT3 RS and only 3 TT have been specced with PCCB - crazy - if you can afford the car you can afford the brakes! I liked them so much I toyed with the idea of putting them on my wife's new Cayman S!

This also confuses me... How can this be a $15kUs-ish option from the factory, yet be so expensive as a retro-fit? Shame - I'd like to retro-fit it but it seems prohibitve. Surely Porsche would prefer us to buy PCCB bits than go to the aftermarket floating-disc stuff? I'm also considering apparently Switzerland's only PCCB-equipped Boxster..

I had a quote for Pounds9,500 for PCCB retrofitted to my C2S towards the end of last year. (from an independent Porsche Specialist tho')

Apparently expensive because they have to supply new parts and bin the old ones whereas from new they don't supply the steel brakes. Of course you can sell the old steel brakes but not much value there.

PCCB is a must for the GT3, even tho expensive.

But I wouldn't add that aftermarket.

No I am not so sure either but that means I can't get a GT3

Alternative is 360CS which might be more fun!
