Porsche UK suck bigtime
This is quite long so bear with me.
I have a 997tt in cobalt bought new from a Porsche dealer in the Uk last september/october.The car developed a fault whereby the brake ad warnign light would come on in heavy rain.I took the car into my local Porsche garage and they replaced the sensors on the pads.Unfortunately this did not work,so I took the car back again. This time they replaced something in the dashboard, but yet again to no avail.Yet again i took the car in and they replaced something else...but again to no avail.
After consultation with Porsche Germany they advised me that they needed to replace the wiring loom which i was not happy about but agreed to so that the issue may finally be resolved.
After a few weeks I got a phone call telling me the loom had arrived and they could I book the car in.THis coincided with me going on holiday for a few weeks so I said fine i am away for 3 weeks make sure the job is done when I get back and booked the car in for July 13th.
Upon arriving back from holiday I ring them and find out the car is not ready as they inform me that only half the wiring loom turned up and that they fitted the first half so the car was undrivable ..not only that but they advised me that the rest of the loom would not be shipped until August 28th so i would not have the car until early September..not only that but they did not have a courtesy car available for me and was offered the service guys merceds c200 to use ( I am not a car snob..but I didn't pay Pounds100,000 to drive a merc c class).
I told them I was not happy and they advised me to speak to Porsche Uk customer services.Which I did...firstly Iw as told they (porsche uk) have no courtesy cars I could use as they only have press cars, and then they advised me that the parts had been delayed and i would not see my car now until mid september.
I explained to them that I was really really unhappy and had had a bad history with Porsche UK previously..(my 996 tt caught fire whilst sat in the garage nearly killing my family..Porsche Uk did nothing apart from say that the independant report which concluded that there was a design fault with the engine was incorrect..despite the fact that i know of at least 2 other people whose 996tt engines caught fire..anyway Porsche UK just didn't want to know as i had bought the car from a regualr dealer not a porsche dealer..since I got paid out by the insurerers I left it alone but was unhappy with Porsche attitude)
They explained that they understood that i was unhappy and wait for this ..offered me Pounds150 in porsche vouchers as compensation.I told them they were insulting me.
Now I have to decuide what to do..I think I might be able to reject the car..it has been off the road in the first year for 10-12 weeks ,I actually don't know what to do..I love the cars but cannot bear porsche customer service,I am either going to ask for some financial compensation or reject the car..unless porsche make some gesture to appease me,and to be honest I would never buy anothe rPorsche again (this is my 5th one) because no matter how good the car is if it goes wrong you dont get looked after.
If anyone reading this is a UK lawyer and knows wether I have any grounds to reject the car..it would be much appreciated.
