Doesn't surprise me a bit. What's even more amazing to me is that the article said

Not only did they survey low for quality, but whereas 2004 and earlier models included free mainetenance a la Audi, now they include nothing. Benz customers cross shopping Jaguar, Audi and BMW makes sense.

May want to consider what the completion rates are for these detailed surveys....for ex., I received multiple, several page surveys upon recent deliveries of new P's (which were flawless) and I promptly discarded the surveys....not worth my time...I know all cars (incl Lexus) have some lemon rate; have great dealer relationships and my past car issues seemed to be handled efficiently (have had perhaps 10 new AMGs in past 3-4 yrs w/minimal quality issues). I suspect many other buyers of S/CL/SL may feel same way about the poor use of their time for these silly surveys...
