    997 Professional Detail

Just had my car detailed by Mark and wanted to share it, the finish is now fantastic to say the least and it was a pleasure to watch Mark work .

Mark arrived at 8.00 am and I was still washing the car, the neighbours must have thought I had gone mad as I was out there at 7am in the dark washing the car in preperation for Mark's paint correction process.

If any of you are considering this I highly recommend Mark ,he is a master at this and a great bloke too, he can be found at

    www.theshinefactory.co.uk

    Now in Marks words:

Arrived slightly early today and the owner Tim was giving the car a careful wash, two bucket method, mitt, grit guard and megs water magnet. As a result the paint was in pretty good shape, just some minor cobwebbing from the dealers.

It was also a chance to try my new camera out, I went for the panasonic lunimix 'rangefinder' style camera with leica lens It shoots in widescreen. All shots taken 'wide open' at f2.8 iso400.

    Process

    Clay: Sonus Green
Polish: Menzerna Intensive Polish 3.02 at 1200rpm megs polishing pad
Polish: Menzerna final finish at 900-600rpm megs finishing pad.
    IPA wipedown
    Zymol HD Cleanse
    Zymol Atlantique by hand
    Megs last touch final wipedown
    Megs glass cleaner
Brilliant Chrome polish on exaust tips by Tim
Wheel wax on wheels by Tim
CG extreme liquid dressing on tyres by Tim

No befores as light swirling and very heavy flake made it hard to photograph.

    Bonnet after polishing alone

    Some Brinkman Shots

    Some During Shots

    And some afters !

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

    Looks awesome!

I think I need to find a detailer like that in the Philadelphia area to care for the black TT!

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

    thuggy,
Let me know when you find one I am right across the river in Voorhees.
    Car looks fantastic.

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

    Very nice.

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

Silver_Surfer, is your detailer Mark Underwood aka Wax Wizard ?

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

Haku his name is Mark Brazendale, his website is

    www.theshinefactory.co.uk

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

Nice. Very nice. I use a guy from Scotland who uses Swissol/Swissvax or what ever it's now called! He is superb. http://www.jac-in-a-box.com/

Just needs to slow the shutter speed down just a tad or lift the ISO up a bit as the pics are a bit dark.

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

Superb job. It's worth every penny since I'm sure you can really tell the difference. Great pics - thanks for sharing

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

    Looks great.

One problem though: I feel a truckload of sympathy for you the first time when you have to drive it and it's raining and crummy outside (happens alot in winter).

My advice for when the time comes: Like a Bandaid stuck to a hairy arm: JUST RIP IT OFF!

It was nearly dark thats why, he had the ISO on Max, they were taken around 5pm so it's amazing they came out as well as they did.

In fact in the last pic you can see the orange glow from a street light in the door panel. It really was dusk when the outside pics were taken. Saw it in sunny weather for the first time today and it looked even better. Well worth the money IMHO

Fair play to ya. Most of them were in the garage also which will have made it worse. If you look at my sig pic, that was taken at 5:45 on Sunday, however it was outside.

Looks mint which ever way you look at it.

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

Silver_Surfer, what was the charge for that detail?
    I can't see prices anywhere...

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

Thank you all for your comments guys

ResB - yeah the camera was pretty much at its limits taking those low light shots

    wtsnet - you have pm

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

Could you also PM me the prices please...

    Many thanks.

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

All I can say is that he has done a very good job.. A long while ago I used to be part of a in-house team that prepared BMW's for road-shows/ press and customer photos..and well, thats a porsche I wouldnt hesitate to get up on the stand! Only problem is that you become paranoid over everything shortly after; mud, stones, fingers etc! I spent about half a day preparing a Z1 and then Jeremy 'fat fingers' clarkson and his wife put their grubby mitts all over it! Thank god for moderately resistive show polish! (I think we were using Permaguard products) My advice...lock the porsche away, underground..forever!

    Re: 997 Professional Detail

The detail was Pounds200 and money well spent for the end result and a finish that should last months with some basic upkeep
