Best of Fifth Gear - Supercars

Did anybody see Fifth Gear on Monday 27 March? Five repeated it last night. Excellent 1 hour 'highlights' programme in which they showed:

Ferrari F430 Spyder (lacked something if you ask me)
Lamborghini Murcielago (orange exterior with beautiful orange and black interior!)
Lamborghini Gallardo SE (Jason Plato hated the driver aids on this one)
Pagani Zonda F (Jason Plato's conclusion: "I need to earn more money" - says it all really!)
McLaren Mercedes SLR (heavy at 1800kgs)
McLaren F1 (Tiff Needell's choice for ultimate supercar)
Aston Martin Vanquish S

I can't remember what else they showed. But they didn't cover the Bugatti Veyron, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Aston Martin DB9, Corvette Z06 or Porsche 911.

All I can say is that I am totally and completely in love with the Pagani Zonda F. That car is powerful, performs staggeringly well, sounds fantastic, looks so amazing, has a wonderful sense of excess flamboyance, beautiful attention to styling detail and quality...I could go on and on!

Yea - caught the prog, good coverage generally speaking.

Didn't like the bit where VBH's mother drove the Lambo. Wouldn't like to meet her coming in the opposite direction!!

Completely agree re the Pagani - I now have a new 'goal' in life. Unfortunately I don't think I'd keep my licence long enough to enjoy it for long.

Here in the states we have to wait for someone to load them on a video board! I love 5th and Top Gear!
I LOVE the Zonda F also! The sound! The sound! I think I'd live in a tunnel.

Congratulations on your spec. Lovely car.

I must say, a friend of mine went on a driving day recently and the F430 left him feeling a bit cold - he much prefered the Murcielago for the excitement it gave him. However, whatever excites you ... best of luck with it!

Hey, you pay your money and you pick the car that turns you on. That's the great thing about choice. To me the Murcie is way too big: great on the interstate, clumsy in the canyons. The 430 leaves me breathless every time I drive it aggressively, it is so capable and just *electrifying* to drive. Not everyone is going to agree, but for me this is THE car.

Not too many canyons around London, so just another case of "horses for courses".
Never driven a Murcielago, but it does look so darn big that driving it along a narrow twisted road without plenty of run-out space does not especially appeal to me.
