Building a Legend by hand ( Zuffenhausen history)
These Photos were taken by Dan L (rennteam member and 997 owner) and are being posted with his permission. He took these on a tour of the Porsche factory in 1977 when he went to pick up another porsche model.
They capture in great quality and candidly the production of the Porsche 928 from start to finish. From the painted mostly aluminum bodies gleaming in the sunlight to the finest production Porsche being driven off the line and engine and transaxle assembly stations all documented.
For an owner of a 928 like myself these photo's are really special but all porsche fans and car enthusiasts in general should be able to appreciate such a piece of history. The story behind the development of the 928 model is long and impressive and these pictures demonstrate the care and quality that went onto the actual production. Thanks to Dan L for sharing these photo's with us.
