Proud owner of Triple Black/Carbon Fiber 2005 TSCab
I am now officially the proud owner of a 2005 TSCab!

My local dealer and I worked out a swap of my Bimmer for the new car. Here are the options in addition to the standard T"S"Cabriolet package:
6-speed manual
Triple black with Large Carbon Fiber package
Black Cabriolet removable hard top included for winter driving (the manager at my dealer suggests a support sling/canopy for the hard top to facilitate removal/replacement in my garage-Porsche makes one, but he says its a pricey Tequipment item-anyone have a suggestion for independent purchase?-he was going to inquire)
Black supple leather front and rear
Lumbar support seats/heated seats in front, left and right
Black mats with Porsche lettering
18" Turbo wheels
Any suggestions for aftermarketing?
I am as of yet undecided re. how far I'll go initially tuning up the engine. If I definitely trade up for the 997TCab/TSCab, then I'll probably hold the mods. to a minimum to avoid warranty/re-sell issues. However, the thought has crossed my mind to keep this one and then add a 997TCoupe or 997GT2 to the stable, in which case I would feel more free reign to fiddle with the engine and other internal mechanics.
At the very least, I'll likely get a short shifter. That's pretty warranty-proof. Perhaps free-flow exhaust. I've heard good things re. Milltek and Evolution Motorsports (EVO), in addition to Europipes. I'd do it more for the increased outflow rather than noise factor. I like the smooth WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH! of the blowers, I don't need the extra decibels.
If I hold the car for the duration of the warranty, I might be tempted to make it blazingly fast with an all-out upgrade. Any public recommendations are much appreciated. Fortunately, in our town we have some very level-headed mechanics and race car fanatics, and the Watkins Glen International race track is just 100 miles away for club events.
Now all I need to do is find the time to get the car through its "break-in" period. At least it's mid-summer, great time to drive fast with her topless!
Pick-up is Thursday afternoon.
