My 2005 997s Lease is up in Jan - What do I do ?

Love the car, but it was run into twice and has a lot of work to the rear, new bumper etc.... Would consider just buying it except for that...

Just get a 2007/08 ? What's the latest on these cars is there a facelift I need to know about? Any new features?

John,

I become very attached to my cars, so I would probably keep it. That's just me.

It really depends on whether or not the work done to the car bothers you, and how much is owed after the lease.

My guess: a GT3 is in your future.

I think I'll get the S again ... but I want to know more about face lifts etc.. don't want to buy one right before a major/minor upgrade... anyone have any info about that?

I am in the same position except my lease ends Dec 07.
How much is your buyout? How many miles will you have in Jan? What options on the car? What is your monthly payment?

In the UK, the facelift is here in April 2008. Not sure about USA.

Facelift revisions are minor. LED taillights, slight change to the shape. Bigger intact ducts upfront, possible integration of the TT's led running lights across all trim levels.

No word on displacement bump, but I wouldn't expect it. This engine's pretty bumped as is.

Last month of the car, drive it like you stole it - turn it in wet and beaten to within an inch of its life.

Do you really want to deal with the balloon payment and trying to find a buyer?

Release a new one.

Why don't you take over my lease which will take you until Feb '09 by which time the face lifted 997s would have arrived and markups would have come down!
I have been trying to transfer my lease for the last 2 months and none of the candidates have had good enough credit history to be approved.

I think maybe I'll just extend the lease so it will coincide with the face lift... can anyone confirm when the face-lifted model will come out so I know when to extend it to ?

Since it is a wrecked car I would turn it in and get a new one. You could buy it but the price would have to be right because if you ever sell it and say it was wrecked you will lose money.
