CloseBMW has stopped the M3 Coupe production, only the M3 Cab will be produced until September.
I just thought this is interesting for some of you. 
Oh, if you think this is now a collector's car, think again. Since 2007, BMW has produced 40000 M3 Coupe, 10000 M3 sedans and 16000 M3 Cab.

I was never that keen on the M3, far too heavy but like nearly all BMW's had a great engine.
The M3 coupe and sedan were fun to drive but the cab was way too heavy. I enjoyed driving my wife's M3 Cab for a while but at a point, I just got bored because the car felt heavy (and was heavy...almost 200kg more, crazy) and the nice sound with open top didn't keep me entertained long enough.
I am pretty sure that with the new M3 showing up, the "old" one will be available on the used car market for an interesting price and considering the nice sounding V8, I think that it will find many (used) car fans. The fuel consumption however will disappoint and may prevent some people of getting one.

I think E92 M3 has the best Engine-Drivetrain-chassie combination that ever came from BMW Motorsport.
We have lots of people over here buying used M5 with the V10 and driving like nuts in them. This happens when fast cars get too cheap... Thanks god, many younger people or people with less driving experience often don't get insurance for these cars, so they cannot buy/drive them.

BMW have been booting the M3 out the doors for the past 12 month at some real good deals. However, you can tell that because they are all over the place now and with young drivers behind the wheel. Of course they are purchased on the never never on 0% plus dealer contributions which screw residuals even further. Mind you it's now the same case for the M5 and M6 which are all on 0% deals. BMW customers will never want to buy again when the interest rates go back up..
I can see why Porsche stick to there guns to be honest, does help residuals, as much as it can in the current climate.

I love the M3. It would be the perfect daily driver for me at this point in my life. if only it wasn't so damn expensive here. a used e92 will go for around 100K here. M cars are ridiculously priced and theres nothing the customer can do buy pay up if you want one.

But it is perfect for cross country European Roads

Yeah that too. but that V8 sound would be worth every penny.
Indeed. Buyers of used M3 will hate the fuel consumption but the sound will compensate them for that.

In a bit of perfect timing my cousin from Miami called me and told me that the lease on a 2011 330i they had for his kid is coming up and asked my if I might be interested in buying it and bringing it to DR. That would be a great buy if they offer him a good price for buying when the lease ends. I have to pull out the calculator and see if I can make this work.

Well...it cannot sound like a V8. 
Just kidding...I'm just a little bit cautious when it comes to M GmbH's recent "sound" setups.

Sold my M3 E92 back in February and while I liked the car, I do not miss it. Have replaced her with a DD and a Clio Cup racecar participating in the local series, it gives me 100 times more pleasure. In fact it is unbelievable how much fun I get out of this small car. A few of you will know - Pierre 
As I say, I liked the E92 but it is heavy. Exhaust note was great and when it gets the revs needed the car moves, but for me it never became the love I had hoped. On track 5-10 laps made the brakes soft and the that is really not a feeling you enjoy. On the road there are so many other cars here in Dubai which are just so much faster, so in reality the car just felt like a nice compromise.
The E92 M3 is no track car, much less than a 911 Turbo for example. 
I know that BMW wants to make people believe something else but... The sound however is really nice, very good daily driver, especially in warmer (and dry) regions. Like the C63 AMG, I would not buy one anymore in cold climates with lots of rain or snow.
I get your small car racing series fun: I recently had the chance to drive a Trofeo Abarth 500 and it was really fun.
