Re: Best Modification Companies?
Ruf is the best known, though their conversions are very pricey (supercharger is about 25k), but comes with a warranty that covers engine. PSI seems well regarded in Europe; they have a 400hp n/a kit for about 17k. There's speedART with several levels of powerkit (buy in the US through GMP Performance). EVOMS carries n/a kit good for a claimed 393hp for around 6k, and supercharger good for an alleged 470hp for around 11k, except no warranty on engine. There are several others. You'll find many opinions on mods here. Some think the hp claims are nonsense plus it violates your warranty. Others tend to believe the claims and take their chances. Personally, I would be apt to do all of the "minor" mods -- exhaust, intake, etc. -- but forced induction is tricky and the 997 engine may not be up to the task. It hasn't been out that long. If you are seriously considering heavy mods, you might wait and trade for a GT3 or Turbo if you can swing those prices. Let us know what you decide.
