    AMV8 - Fuse 22

    I pulled fuse 22 out of the rear fuse box in the AMV8 on Sat. For those of you who don't know, fuse 22 it is the circuit breaker for the exhaust valve. The default position, if the fuse is pulled out, is open. This means straight pipes all the way out! So from zero revs.....it sounds awsome.

    I find now I am not hunting down the 4000rpm (that is where the exhaust valve used to open up). I'll probably keep my license a little longer now!

    IF anyone out there hasn't done this yet on their AMV8....seriously do it. I'm never putting it back in. Unless you are accelerating...the noise is fine. So on a long freeway trip....its is still fine....just put it in 6th gear. But everytime you accelerate you get the awsome exhaust note!

    I'll have to work out someway to get a decent sound clip onto the web.

    Yesterday....i pulled out onto the great ocean road...right behind a cop! Now i'm a pretty young guy...and I could tell this guy wanted to book me bad! He kept speeding up etc. trying to bait me. Eventually he got sick of me and pulled over and went back the other way.

    Just wondering if you guys have any stories about being pulled over?

    Ok Jkparki, I stil haven't done mine. We need to catch up and you can show me which fuse it is. I haven't driven the car much, so far only doing 700km.

    As for cops baiting you, it isn't your age. Afterall we are sort of similar in age. It's your "I'm a punk" look dude. I never have any issue because I look respectable.

    I think a like. I too also get worried about droning, too loud etc. etc. The AM's is just perfect without fuse22, wouldn't change a thing there after

    look in the trunk (boot) right hand side there's a panel - open it, remove the first aid kit. The fuse box is located under that - IIRC, fuse 22 is the yellow one nearest you

    We'll pull it out on Sunday. I wonder what it will sound like with x2 AMV8's 'uncorked' at full throttle?!?!?

    Just be sure it is the fuse box in the TRUNK.

    There are also fuse boxes under the hood and the passenger foot well's front wall. Some people have pulled the wrong fuse 22 and oops the car doesn't work.

    Ok I am not going to try this myself. I will wait for jcparki do help me on this one. Hey Jcparki, a friend of mine in Sydney just ordered one, and a guy I know in Adelaide is also interested. We are going to have an AMV8 club soon.

    Mike, I finally did the Fuse 22 yesterday. Let me say, it is how it should have been from the factory! Perfect, really is. I can't believe how easy it was to do it until I decided to look into the boot yesterday.
