Rear is close, front not at all. Same goes to fenders.

The 991 is a tough act to follow. These don’t look that appealing...

I can't tell the difference between this and the 991.

Re: 992 (Next 911 generation 2018/2019) Thread Closed

You can’t see the ugly black rear strip and the not so nice flat front (that RC said is not correct anyway)?

Hope RC is right.....the front here looks like a generic VW front.

Front is not looking like on these "photos", don't worry.

Don't expect a completely new car though, the 992 design is a nice evolution of the 991.2 design and it will follow the brand design language (so the rear on these "photos" is quite accurate, with the exception of the lower rear fender part). Look at the Cayenne evolution and you get a sense of what will happen.

Also, don't forget that we are talking Carrera models here, the next Turbo is supposed to get a slightly "meaner" or "more special" look, whatever this means (haven't seen it yet, sorry). I assume the same will apply to the next GT models.

I'd say the difference is very minor. Upon looking a picture of a 991, yeah it's different, but if I walked into the dealer and they sold me this and told me it was a 991, I'd have believed him.

That’s how you build a model for 55 years and still have it recognizable.  For example, Corvette is even older, but looks nothing like the original...

Hey RC!!! We already know that both the Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 will have the rear middle red light stripe. (Making a comeback for all carrera´s after the 993 ended). Is there going to be any other differences in the rear between the 2 models besides a bigger ass for the C4?

    Regards.

Frankly, I don't know. I've seen more of the 992 Carrera than I probably should Smiley but I don't have a clue if it was a C2 or C4 and I don't know what particular differences there will be, sorry.

Yes and no. I call it the Cayenne (new one) effect: It looks perfect and very refined but this also makes it...boring. Interior is very nice though, finally they caught up with the 21st century. Smiley I just hope they give the Turbo/GT models a slightly different interior but I doubt it.

What I like is that it looks a bit "meaner" and wider (maybe optical illusion, car was black and I saw it from certain angles only).

Front lights were slightly camouflaged but I could see through the foil because I was close. Smaller than the sketches/PS jobs we've seen so far.

Overall, a typical 911 evolution but nothing spectacular.

There were rumors that the 911 Turbo will be different (more "flashy" and with a slightly different interior) but you never know what happens along the development.

Weird since dealer presentation was supposed to happen in 2018... 🤔

It is an official communication to dealers . Maybe they will have some cars for presentation at the end of Dec 18

Usually, when the dealer presentation (for customers) happens, they already started production for at least a couple of weeks.

It is very unlikely that they stop producing the 991.2 in July 2018 and then no more Carrera production in the production facility until 2019. Highly unlikely.

    I'll find out soon.

It sounds strange also to my dealer , but this is the situation.

In this comunicate PAG also invites delears to make a stock of vehicles  due the stop of 991 production from next July .

Re: 992 (Next 911 generation 2018/2019) Thread Closed

About the presentation on December was just a my idea .

The comunicate to the dealers talks just about the beginning  of 992 production from Jan 19 and they confirm that 992 will be revealed at Paris 2018 and LA 2018 for US market

Re: 992 (Next 911 generation 2018/2019) Thread Closed

Based on previous generations, it's quite usual for the final special editions of a 911 model series (including GT / RS models) to be sold alongside the next generation "plain vanilla" models...
