    First news on the new 997 RSR on the Porsche's Web site

    I remember that before on the forum it was a post about this car. I had no time to search for it, so if somebody thinks this should be on the other post please move it. Also hope it is not a repost. Sorry guys I'm on my holidays so.... you understand me......

    485bhp from the 3.8L NA engine - sweet!

    Let's hope the facelift Carrera S benefits from some of that know-how!!

    Sorry to burst your bubble but I doubt that the M97 engine in the Carrera S has too many things in common with the RSR engine. It is developed for racing and was also used in the winning car from Manthey Motors in the Nuerburgring 24hours.
    As far as I know it is based on the GT3 / Turbo engine that was also used in the 996 racecars, but heavily modified.
    And please note, that engine output is limited by the two mandatory air restictors...

    The cars already faster than the Ferraris in the 24hour race in Spa, a few flaws caused them not to finish on the podium.
