    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

Nice. Though time to introduced such a car though.

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

I'm really feeling this one. I like it more than Phantom. The lines and proportions are just tidier and more taunt.

If anyone's ever seen a Phantom in real life, then you know how fucking HUGE that car is. It's like a goddamn lowered H2. This one here looks like one you could actually enjoy driving without the fear of rolling over a small car or family you didn't see in the crosswalk.

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

Baby Rolls looks great IMO, just the right proportions, as Heist already said. Smiley

It may not be the best time for introducing such a car, nevertheless this will be a fantastic car. Smiley

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

I agree with you guys, I like it too.

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

I for one hate it. One if you're going to make an crazy cool upper end sedan why not make it look cool too. First off it looks EXACTLY like the bigger brother.

Secondly, the bold looks for the car are a dead giveaway that there are no acutal cool and exiting lines. It's like 300C all over again. And then there's the epic/stupid doors which after a day or two will just get super annoying.

Then there's the interior which does look like a BMW and is probably bmw parts bin knockoffs anyways.

It will be heavy and be the worst gas guzzler of 2009 likely and it is just in time for the global recession too..

IMO, im afraid only rappers and those "i spend 5 hrs a day at the gym to train but can't wipe my a$$ anymore" kinda guys.

I like it - but I think it will always be dogged by the label of 'shrunken Phantom' or that it's for people who couldn't afford a real Phantom.

^^^The same could be said for ppl who buy the Cayman, Vantage, Gallardo, etc. etc.

    I think it's just a personal choice.

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

I don't entirely agree. I think one could say that about the Cayman (vis a vis 911) but not about the Vantage or the Gallardo.

The Vantage is IMHO a far better car than Aston's more expensive DB9, DBS or Vanquish S.

The Gallardo LP560-4 is a different car with a different personality than the Murcielago LP640.

BTW I have no intention of starting the Cayman vs 911 debate. That's been done ad nauseam....

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

I also agree the Vantage is better than the DB9...

The Vantage V12 will be something.

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

The car is great, but still dont know the reason for buyers getting one. In this segment it is crucial to have the "best". Secondly, who wants to drive a Rolls himself, this is a Chauffeur car. Based on both I would say, there is not really a space for the small Rolls next to the Phantom. Who want to be a wannabe???

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

Lars, I don't think so. Phantom is huge, heavy and not what you would call a bargain.

200EX is a competitor to cars like S65 AMG, I would choose the Rolls without hesitation.  Smiley

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

Ok Rossi - I got your point. Anyway - a S65 I always would drive my self and not seeing it as an chauffeur car. The 200Ex is another car, a Rolls I would say is made for chauffeuring and not self driving. Further on, the S65 is the top of the range Mercedes vs. the 200EX is kind of a wannabe Phantom. That is my point of view.

I would rather take the S65AMG if I was going to drive myself! Plus this thing will still be x2 the price of a S65AMG. I can't ever take the Phantom where I wish, some places are far too small to park or manuevure the vehicle around.

Alright, I get your idea. I would have thought, that a Phantom is mostly a chauffeur's limousine, but I've heard that even the huge phantom is often driven by its owner. So that should be even more the case with a 200EX.
And your argument about the RR4 being a wannabe topmodel Rolls: couldn't say that about many great cars? Gallardo a wannabe Murciélago? Scuderia a wannabe Enzo? Vantage a wannabe DBS? Cayman a wannabe 997? List is endless, I think the "wannabe-thing" is not an issue here. Smiley

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

Ok - you are right with the Wannabe's. I would always go for a Gallardo, Suderia and Vantage. It might be my feelings for having a Rolls. Dont know why I think a Rolls will be something different, but this is how it pops up in my mind.

One thing will be totally different. If you drive a Rolls or lets say S-Class. People will look totally different on you. A S-Class is so normal, noone even cares about. This is a big advantage. The Mini-Rolls will force jealousy and for sure polarize on the streets. I guess - at least in Germany - many people who could afford and even would afford are stepping back out of that reason. Especially in the down-turn we have right now.

Sure, the S65 is top of the range - but just at Mercedes Smiley Even worse, its looks are pretty tasteless... Somehow, the S65 lacks class. It is similar as with the Maybach: great technology but BAD taste... In contrast, my personal feel regarding the Rolls Royce models is that they are very flashy (as S65 and Maybach) - but extrude an elegante and somhow "natural" elegance. Mercedes - in conrtrast - looks always a bit wannabe...

Frankly, I could envisage that such car could attract quite a significant number of buyers. I would not consider it unlikely that there is a number of car enthusiasts who would LOVE to own/dribe a RR one day. The Phantom, obviously, is not the kind of car that could be actually driven/used in central Europe (just my point of view...). The 200EX, however, could be such car Smiley

Absolutely Smiley Personally, I would never consider owning a Phantom. Simply impossible here in Germany. Howeber, the 200EX might be different... Somehow tempting Smiley

    Re: Baby Rolls Pics

I like it very much! And I will never buy a car like this but I think it looks as a Rolls should look inside out.
