    Autobahn Polizei!

    Hope this is not a repost,

    Don't know if its been photoshopped or not, maybe RC can verify its existence?

    It must be quite scary being flagged done by a 997 with a Techart Kit. Guess its more a necessity than a luxury for the police on the autobahn!

    Aerodynamics are screwed with that ridiculous light bar. Negates Techart kit.

    I don't know why they would waste money on a techart kit for a police car. I'd guess that's been photoshopped, but who knows?

    Would be really nice if these 997-equipped Cops we're like Italian cops and Ferraris. They understand there are TWO speed limits in Germany one for Porsches and one for everybody else.

    1. NO Photoshop, this car is real.
    2. this car has been modified with real police decals/lights/etc.
    3. this is an official car for a public campaign together with the police to tell especially young people that "safe tuning" is only APPROVED tuning from specialized tuning companies with a certain certification.
    4. this car has 370 HP, not the standard 355 HP. A bigger brake system is also installed.
    5. right now it is only used as a showcar for the mentioned public campaign against "bad tuning". It is not know if this car will ever be used as an official police car.

    The reason behind this campaign: unfortunately a lot of young people over here are tuning their cars with cheap and non-approved parts. What can work without problems in speed-limited countries, can lead to catastrophy in speed limit free Germany. For example a rear wing which actually destroys the aerodynamical balance of the car or springs/rims which aren't approved for a certain weight, etc. Just two examples out of dozends.

    BTW: the picture shows our secretary of transport/traffic...until the new one takes over soon. (we had elections and because of a coalition between the biggest two parties, he has to go).

    Also interesting: the guy leaning on the 997 on the right is Bodo Buschmann, the owner and boss of BRABUS. He is the president of the Tuner Association in Germany. Only reputable tuners are allowed to join this association because certain standards have to be met.

    Right, according to the website of the "Tune It! Safe!" campaign the car will be presented on the Essen Motor Show as a show car.
    I don't think that the police will get that car. The decals can easily be removed and the blue flashing light is mounted on the sun roof! So they can remove the light and just exchange the sun roof to get rid of the holes later. Hope they did 'safe tuning' and disabled the sun roof button

    How did they get 370hp out of it? I assume such modification has made the Porsche warranty void??

    Seems like those wheels and aerokit are a needless waste of taxpayer money. Makes the cops look like dorks IMHO; they're supposed to be all business. They're not supposed to be suggesting they're style-conscious hotrodders.

    If memory serves me right, this is not an official Police car but a showcar used by the police together with Techart in a "safe-tuning-campaign".

    we in europe pay tax for toooo mutch things , .... so why not for that
