GRY is really a great little car, loving it more and more each day. 
And it also looks fantastic, especially in this red (of course highly subjective, it does look good in all three colours).
I will post some pics in due time, I know, I still owe you some pics of the B25 and the Perf.

Will not make a difference in the U.S. market since the GR Yaris isn’t offered here. The purpose of the GR Corolla is for markets not easily accessible to the lighter, smaller car.

Yes, I am not a fan of the extra weight (weighs 3,249 pounds in US trim, 194 kg more than GR Yaris). But, it is much more practical to have the larger size of 4 doors and a hatch (will hold my large model gliders through the hatch with seats folded down). The Corolla is still quite a small car.
I do think having only 1.6L will make a difference with the extra weight and living at high altitude (it will be sluggish setting off before the boost builds and the altitude acts like the motor has lower compression). I hope the gearing is nice and low.

I just heard that all the gear ratios are identical to the GR Yaris - are these fairly aggressive or mild?
Edit: I found this online - does it look right? Is the redline really 7,250 rpm (thought it was lower - maybe this is fuel cut-off point beyond redline)? If correct, this is nice aggressive gearing

That table looks right Grant. Redline is at 7000 rpm from memory and fuel cut off around 7200 so that table might be a tad higher for the extra 250 rpm. It feels shorter geared and quite a bit different from our old GT4s where 2nd was about the same as GTY 3rd!
Im not sure what altitude you have (Im at 400m and most of my driving between 400-700m). Im my brief drive and talking with the two other local owners who use their on road and track there's been no talk about loss of power at our altitude vs when we leave town for other tracks at sea level. Ive never noticed the difference in power with the GT3/4 between tracks here or at seal level either but then cant compare the performance of the car at the same track different mbar anyhow LOL

Thanks, guys. Yes, I was also thinking the speeds were a touch high due to the shift point being at fuel-cutoff, rather than redline. I'm at 1 mile (1.6 km) elevation. Mile High City
But the paved mountain roads here go over 14,200 ft (4,328 meters)

Hope you got your order in Grant. Its looking like the GR Corolla will be another car in USA that will be trading on the secondary market for overs or +ADM if the dealers get any funny ideas from the Porsche world....saw a FB post today from Toyota USA President saying that some dealers already oversold 2022 and 2023 allocations!

I probably should have acted, but I've been waiting to hear what the price will be (no ADM on the base model and $10k on the Circuit edition). The $10k deposit is not refundable, so I didn't want to be locked into a large price in case Toyota gets frisky when setting the price in the US...
