    Original Cayenne TT vs 08 facelifted Cayenne TT...

    Has anyone here, who owned the original Cayenne TT, bought the facelifted 2008 Cayenne TT?
    Would love to hear your thoughts and opinions about improvements/misses, from an owner's perspective.

    If you have an 04-05 TT still under warranty, it is hard to justify shelling out another $60-70K for almost the same car.

    Same interior, more hp, tad quicker but the car is already so fast for an SUV, design is new, but not necessarily better...

    Unless there are some great leases out there or until they go off warranty, not many people will swap. Also there is the ML63 out there which is now a real competitor for $20k less with the same equipement...

    The same thing could be said of the 911 year after year after year. But we all know how that works.

    Just curious, how do you come up with a $20k difference? The MSRP for the Cayenne Turbo is $93,700 and the MSRP for the ML63 is $87,425. What does the ML3 have that the Cayenne is missing that would add another $13k to its price? 20" wheels? How much would it cost to add true off-road capabilities to the ML63?

    With Porsche's 'nickle-and-diming' options, I've not seen a new Cayenne TT yet with a sticker under $110K. I'm not a fan of the ML in any form, however I haven't met many people who actually take their CTT off-roading.

    And the same can be said for the ML63 available options. Go to your local MB dealer and take a look at the stickers on any AMG models. They load them up also.

    All I am trying to say is that I don't think there is a $20k difference between a similarly equipped Cayenne TT and ML63.

    The ML63 may be slightly faster in straight line performance, but I think the over-all performance of the Cayenne is superior and I consider them to be similarly priced.

    As far as the $110k Cayenne TT, I agree that the dealers tend to load up cars they order for inventory. That is not to say that you cannot get a well equipped Cayenne for less than $100k. Currently in So. Cal there are a half dozen Cayenne TT on dealers floors at $102k or less. The range I saw was $99K to $119k. My 2005 TT has everything I wanted (including 20" wheels) and its sticker was $97k.

    My 04 TT sticker was also $97k, but speccing a new one with panoramic roof came close to $110k for some reason. Doing the same for the ML63 came to $93k, $17k difference.

    Cayenne will perform and handle better except in straight line, granted.

    I just went to the MB and Porsche websites and made up what I feel were two similarly equipped vehicles. I added a moonroof, 20" wheels, sat radio and floor mats to the Cayenne and it came out to $99,490. I added silver paint, parktronic and heated rear seats (my Cayenne has them) to the ML63 and it came out to $89,500.

    I actually had given a deposit to order a ML63 at one time, but decided that $90k was too much for a ML. Keep in mind that I only spent $80k for my new 2005 TT that I bought in Feb. 2006. A Cayenne is always a Porsche. A ML, unless it is the AMG version, is an okay SUV, but nothing special.
