Don’t think you can mount the new double wishbone front to the 718 platform. And even if you could, that would be a bad idea (you don’t want to have camber gain on the front axle under load without matching rear camber gain and the rear struts of 718 have none. Would be very unstable at speed)

Counting variants, there is already 718 Boxster/Cayman, Boxster/Cayman S, Boxster/Cayman T, Boxster/Cayman GTS 4.0, Boxster 25th, Cayman GT4/Boxster Spyder. what else can they come up with

Including the GT4RS, that's 12 variants of 718. What could be the next combination of Cayman/Boxster.

The base, S, T are all flat 4s, while the rest are flat 6s. I have to imagine the new 2 variants will be flat 6 based.

Perhaps a 550 tribute car.

Can't really do a wingless Touring model as the Spyder already without wings.

Maybe a Cayman/Boxster GT trim, with HP rating between the GT4/Spyder and the GT4RS.

I do not think. that the 718 modell range is the one attracting buyers on "limited editions" etc for Porsche. Perhaps the next route they will be going is this "Barilla car" introduced to the press yesterday - a very one off customer built car, a "Porsche Manufaktur plus" so to say ... indecision

Clubsport would mean not road legal, correct ? Since the show is in the states, perhaps it will be a 1000 years sebring special like they did in German with the GT4 Porsche Sportscup (road legal) ... or a James Dean Birthday(year) special with the 718 spyder... exciting ... blush

Press release says a pair of 718s. I decoded that as a Cayman/Boxster combo. So must be a trim level for both lines. If one is the new ClubSport, what's the other car?

Porsche at times are laziest, they just mix and match some parts together and call it a new trim.

But there isn't much combinations they haven't used yet..........
