Thanks for the comments guys.. Right now I am waiting for the clear bra installation.. I will wash it once the clear bra is installed, and will take some detailed pictures(later this week). I have only driven the car about 30 miles or so, mostly under 45-50 miles /hr. When standing still it feels like a gocart with all the vibrations etc, but on the road it is as smooth as a carrera S .. Also noticed a loud knocking noise from the engine, I am sure it will go away after a few hundred miles .. I have the additional options that came out in the September build (lift system and dynamic engine mounts) .. will post the list of options, pics and my comments soon ..

haha what is the gas guzzler option??
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Congrats, beautiful car. Reminds me of the most wonderful time of the past ten years (besides the birth of my two children) when my 997 Turbo arrived at my dealer two weeks before the official introduction.
Getting a new Porsche is so exciting, almost like the birth of a child. Almost.

My GT3 makes all sorts of strange noises. You just have to get used to it.
For example, after warmup there is a noticeable tapping sound at idle. I'm guessing it's the vacuum pump or maybe one of the scavage pumps. I dunno. The Porsche service manager said it was normal. There frequently will be a brief 'braaap' sound upon startup after the car has been parked overnight. For a long time I thought it was the starter motor. However Nugget's RS does the same thing. Since then I've concluded it's a sound the oiling system makes when it first builds up pressure. And I'm sure you already know about the occasional puffs of smoke upon startup. Yeah, this is a different beast than the Carrera.

Same applies to Turbo and GT2...absolutely normal.

Not age. Unbridled temperament.

Aaron,
I think the gas guzzler is not so much as an option but an additional "tax" (read: government BS extra income) for cars that use a relative large amount of fuel.-Joost-
yes makes sense, just sounds so harsh.
