Porsche just came out with the Navigation update for 2005 cars. The upgrade includes both upgrading the PCM to 2.1B (from 2.1A) and a new NAV disk.
My car is in for service, and I've gone ahead and purchased the update. I'll keep you posted if it supports MP3 playback when I pick it up.

You're right. I was holding off on trying this until I heard definitive results from someone else, but I decided to go ahead and do it once I heard about requiring 2.1B for the Sirius retrofit that you did.
My next step is to order the Sirius kit...
