Shame Porsche don't offer polar silver on the current models.
Best combo: Polar silver, black interior, red belts - simply stunning.

The Red interior on my 993 looks nice (to me) with the Polar Silver too. Similar to the old 550 Spyder's Silver-Blue ext with Red seats

Polar was the " standard" silver Porsche offered in the states in the mid 90s. Dealers complained to PCNA that customers thought it was too " bluish " and not " silvery " like other German cars , so they introduced Arctic. The first pic above compares them very well.

i think i read on one of the other boards (perhaps the porsche board) that polar is being re-introduced as a standard colour (along with not in place of arctic) from september/august onwards.

Yes, it was standard on the 95 & 96 993. 97 was the first year that Artic replaced it - Polar still available from then for lots of $$$

that picture makes arctic look really dull

looks like severe overcast day

Polar has much more character than arctic.

i saw it on a normal 996 c2 and it was marvelous

The thing about silver

keep in mind that silver can be a very washed out color in the middle of the sunny day; it's drama depends on the lighting. At other times when lighting is right it becomes a most fantastic color.

Thanks Moogle! I agree with you too!

This is a pic I posted on the 996 board, on a nice sunny day, polar blue becomes totally blue!
On that pic, the car really looks light blue! And on normal condition, it's just light grey, awesome color!!!

hurts my heart to see Porsches under snow like this, but even overcast with snow Polar really glows (rhyme not intentional)
