Booking delays at your Porsche dealer ?

Since Porsche has taken over  my local Porsche dealer ( which was run by AMAG before ) and has a running contract with an investor , the delays to get an appointment have become just complete crazy.

At my OPC ( Porsche - Crissier/Lausanne )  I have to wait for a service appointment between 4 and 6  weeks !!!!!! Smiley

How long do you have to wait to get a service appointment at your garage ?

In spring to get an appointment to put back my summer tires, it was about one month ( to do a 30 min job !!!! )

Usually 2-3 weeks here. If it is a small thing I can leave the car for a day or two and they do it in-between other appointments or over lunch.

Sorry to heat that Gnil, that is crazy. They need to hire more personel, that is unacceptable service. One week delay at most here but usually less.

I can usually book my car in within 1 day (so availability is very good) but I generally have various commitments of my own which mean that I typically schedule appointments after a few days.

mm, 2-3 weeks or so for me, too.  Very disappointing.  My motorbike dealer even wanted me to wait 3 weeks for an appointment to fix something under warranty which rendered my bike unusable! I ended up getting the part off them and fixing it myself

Sounds like a business opportunity in Switzerland to open another authorized Porsche repair shop.

I thought the same. Dave already has a jack and the torquewrench...

Re: Booking delays at your Porsche dealer ?

Thanks . You all seem to be better off then here. I am close to write a letter to Porsche as this is getting ridiculous. Before they built that new Porsche garage ( 2 years ago ) , I waited maximum 2 weeks. I just thing the garage is badly run , or really under staffed.

@ Dave : I do do have a jack..and change the wheels of my other cars.... but I am happy to have the P garage keep my rims during the month I don't use them . It saves me space

I'm in .. I bought a nice new set of Snap-On spanners a couple of weeks back, too!

I know what you mean, Gnil - my little storage room is completely full of tyres..

Same here. I usually call in advance just to make sure, since I live about 45 minutes away. Great service and they wash the car, which is nice.

    (I'm very easily impressed.)Smiley

Re: Booking delays at your Porsche dealer ?

had a similar discussion with a Swiss dealer here on "benefits buying here" - and they purposely do this with "re-imported"  (!) cars - meaning if not bought in Switzerland but brought in from Germany for example (at much cheaper costs) you might have to wait long for service or anything else done with it.

I was a bit surprised as well to hear - but he sold it as reason to buy Swiss and a "advantage" - vs a car from EU......

If you have a Swiss bought car I would heavily complain - if not challenge the above....no matter how so far I am also not to much impressed about their services vs a BMW or Merc dealer. They just had to good times - never felt a pinch until now - and now the 991 comes out on which people might cue again signing a contract......

2-3 days but it helps to be "generous" to the service manager.

Only a day or two here and usually with a choice of times to fit in with your other appointments.  If it's an overnight job, and a courtesy car is required, it may be longer... but no more than a week..

It's the reception lady who takes render vous' s . She has no clue where the cars come from. My car seller told me that the EU import do cause big problems, as they are so many and jam up the garage.

@RC : I will not be ' generous' to the manager . He' s got already enough from my pocket + he needs to organize better his place. One should not have to ' pay' to get proper service !

I heard that, too - strange thing for them to be complaining about (too much business) :-/
